We have already learnt….


Weather keeps changing from day to day and
sometimes from hour to hour.

When the weather remains the same for a long


period, we call it Seasons.

Seasons occur due to the earth’s revolution


around the sun.

Shopping for Summer


It is the beginning of the
hot season.
Prakriti and Prithvi are
going shopping with their
mother to buy clothes for
summer.

First of all we will go to the clothes


shop and buy a set of new summer
uniforms for the two of you.

Summer Season
April and May are the hot months of the year.
This period is called summer season.
The sun is at its hottest
and brightest during this
time.

People like to stay indoors and use fans, coolers or
air conditioners.

People like to have cold water, cold drinks and ice


cream.

People like to go for swimming in summers.

People also like to go to hill stations in this season.

Rainy Season
After hot summer comes the rainy season or
the monsoon season.
The rain comes in June, July and August.
Cool winds from the sea bring the rain
clouds.
We use raincoats and umbrellas to protect
ourselves from rain.

The rain fills the dried ponds, wells, lakes and rivers.
It brings water for the crops.
The trees and plants look green during the
monsoon season.

called solar energy. This solar energy available in nature
can be used in many ways.

Solar cooker uses sun’s energy to cook food.
