Name yarn :
Papatya Batik Silver – Code : 37

For this cardigan I use 4 skeins for the S size

2
The measurement is make it in the same way, regardless of the size you
have.

Now you have to measure yourself from the shoulder down and chain so
many stitches you need with bringingup that you need to chain a number
who is multiple of 4 plus 2.

In my case I chain 184 + 2 . In total 186 and I have the lenght of 87 cm and
it is perfect for my model.

3
Row 1 : After you chain , skip 2 stitches and in the third stitch make DC,
and also in every stitch until you finish the row

Row 2 : chain 5 , turn your work , skip 3 stitches and in to the next join with
SL

4
And continue to chain 5 and skip 3 until you finish the row. The last SL is in
to the chain 2 at the first row.

Row 3 :. chain 5 , turn your work and join with SL in to the first group with
chain 5 space

5
Chain 5 and in to the next chain 5 space , join with SL . Continue until you
almost finish the row .

6
Chain 2 and make in to the first chain at the previous row 1 DC

Row 4 : chain 5 , turn your work and join with SL in to the first group with
chain 5 space . Chain 5 and in to the next chain 5 space , join with SL .
Continue until you finish the row .

7
8
Row 5 : chain 5 , turn your work and join with SL in to the first group with
chain 5 space

Chain 5 and in to the next chain 5 space , join with SL . Continue until you
almost finish the row .

9
Chain 2 and make in to the first chain at the previous row 1 DC

Row 6 : chain 5 , turn your work and join with SL in to the first group with
chain 5 space . Chain 5 and in to the next chain 5 space , join with SL .
Continue until you finish the row .

10
Now you need to repeat these 6 rows.
Chain 3 ( counts as 1 DC ) and in to the first chain 5 space make 3 DC . In
total you have 4 DC.

11
And continue to make 4 DC in every chain 5 space until you reach at the
last chain 5 space .

12
In to the last chain 5 space make 4 DC and 1 DC in to the chain 2. In total
you will have 5 DC.

Now you continue : chain 5 , turn your work , skip 3 stitches and in to the
next join with SL and continue until you finish the row.

13
Nou continue to make so many rows you need until you obtain the back
width .
How to calculate the back width: measure all around your body where your
hips are bigger.
After you have measured yourself, divide the number obtained by 2 .
The result is the number of cm or inch that you need for the back side.
And also you measure there where every row begin and finish , because
after you finish the back even if you work horizontal you turn to vertically.
My advice is to make in plus 1 or 2 cm for the back.
Very important : the last row at the back must be a row with DC.

After you finish the back side is time to make the front side (make 2).
Measure where every row begin and finish: for a child 9 cm, and for an
adult between 10- 12 cm , and count the rows.
Then count all rows and make : the number of rows minus the number that
you obtain after you measure .
The rezult divide by 2, and you need to have the same number of rows in to
the left and also in to the right.
Put one stitchmarker in to the left after you count the rows for one front side
and also count the rows for the second front side and put one stitchmarker .
Now you can make the front side .

14
You chain the same number of stitch that you chain at the back side and
make so many rows you need . The last row at the front sides must be a
row with chain 5 and join with SL.

After you finish the first front side sew at the back from inside , and repeat
for the second front side.

Now is time to make the front edge .

The front edge begin in the lower left corner and ends in the lower right
corner.

Make a slipknot and insert the crochet in to the first chain 5 space , chain 1
and make in every chain 5 space 4 HDC, until you reach at the neck line.
Here you have rows and in one row make 1 HDC and in to the next make 2
HDC.

15
After you finish the first row at the front edge , chain 1 turn your work an
make in every stitch BLHDC, until you finish the row. In to the last stitch at
every row always make HDC, then chain 1 and continue to make so many
rows you need for the front edge.

16
17
The sleeves ( make 2 ) :
Measure your arm from the shoulder to the wrist.
And make : the rezult minus 8 cm and chain so many stitches you need.
For example in my case my model has 46 cm and I make :
46 cm – 8 cm = 38 cm
For these 38 cm I chain 80 plus 2.
After you calculate wou make so many rows until you obtain the necesary
space for your arm .
How to measure for the space for your arm :
- Measure at the shoulder until under arm

The rezult multiple with 2. And after you multiple with 2 make in plus
around 2 or 3 cm.
For example in my case my model has 16 cm.
And I make :
16 cm multiple with 2 = 32 cm plus 2 cm is 34 cm
So I make so many rows until I obtain 34 cm.

The measurement is make it as you make at the back where every row
begin and finish.

And also the last row at the sleeve must be a row with DC.

After you finish the sleeves you need to sew at the cardigan.

Count the rows and you will have a number who can`t be divide by 2.

And make : the number that you have minus 1 and the rezult divide by 2.

Count the rows after you divide by 2 and in to the next put a stitchmarker.

This is the middle of the sleeve. Put 1 stitchmarker in to the left and also in
to the right (see picture)

Now you can sew the sleeve from inside .

18
19
After you finish to sew to sleeves at the cardigan is time to close the
sleeve and also to join the front at the back.

You begin at the bottom at the sleeve , continue to join until you reach
under arm and also continue to join the front at the back until you reach at
the bottom at the cardigan .

Insert the crochet in to the first DC at the last row at the sleeve and also in
to the first DC at the first row at the sleeve and join with SL.

Continue to join until you finish.

20
After you close the sleeve and also you join the front at the back you need
to make at every sleeve a edge.
Insert the crochet in to the first row , chain 1 and make 2 SC, in to the next
row make 1 SC, and continue until you finish, join with SL in to the frist SC.

Chain 2 and now you begin to make the front edge with BLHDC but at the
same time you need to decrease.
In to the first stitch make 1 unfinished HDC in to the back loop and in to the
next stitch also 1 unfinished HDC in to the back loop, then join them into
one.

21
And continue to decrease until you finish the row, then join with SL in to the
chain 2 at the beginning of the row, chain 2 turn your work and continue to
make BLHDC in every stitch and also make so many rows you need.

22
The last part of this cardigan is the bottom edge.
Insert the crochet in to the first row , chain 1 and in to the same stitch make
1 SC, then skip 1 row and in to the next make 5 DC in to the same stitch,
then skip again 1 row and make 1 SC, then skkip 1 row and make 5 DC in
to the same stitch.
Continue until you finish, cut and hide the yarn and your cardigan is ready.
