Overview January 2023
SAFETY
January gave us a good start to 2023 with an improvement to most KPIs. Note that all frequencies from the start of the year have been altered
from a 24 to 12-hour exposure rate, and all frequency targets have been amended to reflect this change. For additional details please refer to
slide 5 of this report pack.
Safety leadership training was carried out in Aberdeen upon request from the Shell Brent Subsea Infrastructure Decommissioning Project, with
great feedback from the Clients and project team.
Our final ACT Campaign for 2022 has been extended into 2023 with a continued focus delivering certified training across our fleet of vessels
and at a second planned onshore pop-up training facility. Our continued collaboration with Aqua Terra Training Ltd. will ensure that our
employees who either plan work at height activities, physically undertake work at height activities or supervise work at height practices attain
the necessary training and competence requirements to do so in a safe and professional manner.
ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
For the last two years we have managed to beat our target for CO2 reduction, and that trend continued in January with a further reduction in
CII. In 2023 the aim is to reduce by a further 5% from the end of 2022 result. To achieve this, we need continued focus on eco-transits as a
default, applying route planning to avoid strong currents/weather conditions and plugging in to shore power whenever possible.
We ended the year with a 30% reduction in spill volume compared to 2021, which is very good. However, we also increased the number of
spill cases by about 21%. We started 2023 with a slight increase in case frequency.
Quality
One of the goals for 2022 was to achieve a 25% increase in global audit activity compared to 2021 and we absolutely 'smashed' that goal by
finishing 2022 with a 96% increase in audit activity. Well done to all involved and let's keep that going for 2023!
CNQ is steadily being tracked in NetSuite and the year-end status for 2022 was a CNQ level of 0,8% of overall cost. This is the first time we
have beat the target for CNQ in the last three years and to close out the year so far below the target line of 1.7% is a tremendous
achievement! For 2023 the defined CNQ target is set to 1.5%. The CNQ status is omitted form the January report, but status will be included in
February and forward.

Changing from IMCA Band B to Band C
To fully align with the IMCA injury definitions and allow for accurate benchmarking of safety statistics, DeepOcean have adjusted calculation of offshore
exposure hours from a 24-hour calculation to a 12-hour calculation. This will move us from a Band B, to a Band C benchmarking comparison where companies
report between 1-5 million manhours and have an employee count between 500-2500 (as seen below). As such, DeepOcean have defined new Lost Time
Injury Frequency and Total Recordable Incident Frequency targets based on a 10% improvements on the last three years of IMCA Band C benchmark
performance. Below you can see visualization of the new target line to be used as of 2023 with our 5-year performance.
Note that this change will also affect other frequency calculations, and therefore you will Band Man-hours Employees
see other values than in the December Monthly report. A >10 mill 5000

Summary
Recordable injuries last 12 months
No recordable injuries for the first month of 2023, let's keep this going! Several initiatives were taken during 2022 to ensure
we keep our personnel as safe as possible, including focus on performing dynamic risk assessments (DRAs) with emphasis
on “eyes on path” and “eyes on task”, prevention of hand injuries with proper use of PPE and correct use of hand tools.
• If you witness an unsafe act/behaviour, stop the work and initiate a safety conversation.

We had a very strong finish to 2022 and continue 2023 with no first aid injuries. Significant efforts have been dedicated in recent months to prevent further First Aid injuries and this has
resulted in significant reduction in First Aid Case Frequency compared to the top in August.

HiPo Overview
Summary
Due to the strong performance in 2022, we decided to reduce the High Potential Frequency Target to 1,14 for 2023. This is a realistic target given that we managed to reach the 2023
target for 9 out the 12 months in 2022.
The massive drop in HiPo frequency that we have seen last year is a great achievement and a result of robust risk assessments and ongoing safety and quality
preparations at our worksites.

Dropped objects
Summary
No new dropped objects recorded in January, enabling our dropped object frequency to near the target line for 2023. The frequency for proactive mitigation activities continues to increase
which hopefully will allow us to "catch" more potential dropped objects before they occurr. Proactive activities related to dropped objects include workplace dropped object inspection
reports and any specific Synergi case entries that captures potential dropped objects, including localised Hazard Hunts and workplace inspections.
For a detailed overview of dropped object cases see the Monthly report Dashboard in Synergi.

Environment
Summary
Three spill cases reported in January, all of which were 1 litre or less. This resulted in an increase in spill frequency.
Priority continues to be to allow suitable time for pre- and post-dive checks, review actions needed to prevent further damage to our ROV manipulators, and verify fitness of seals,
hoses, oil fittings, valves and o-rings prior to dives as these are common elements associated with our spills so far in 2022.
DeepOcean has committed to work systematically and continuously with our engineers and our Clients to prevent spills to the environment and have this as a key commitment in our
2023 strategy.

Our new CII target for 2023 is an incremental 5% reduction of the achieved CII for
2022. Looking at the proactive approach put forth by our vessels and offshore 1725
personnel we are confident that we can achieve our target for the third year in a row
1708
by continuing to prioritise the following operational initiatives:
1692
- Shore power connection whenever possible; 1681 2022 CII target
(-5%) 1660
- Eco speed as default; 1662 1665 1665
- Route planning (to avoid adverse weather impacts and currents) 1651

Project Managers are requested to continue working with their designated HSEQS
resources to monitor and report project CO2 emissions using the Project
Sustainability Reporting in the Project Dashboard and include this reporting in all
upcoming project monthly reports (for more information).

Observation reporting
Why is observation reporting important? It is a process that allows ANYONE in the company to alert worksite management of an issue that needs attention, be that an HSEQS
related issue or otherwise, both positive and negative. It gives the company a snapshot view at that point in time of what is being observed at the worksite and what is important to our
employees.
To gain true value from the observation reporting, worksite management needs to evaluate every observation and consider if further action is needed. As this point is of critical
importance to the integrity of our observation reporting process, the DeepOcean guarantee is that: EVERY OBSERVATION SUBMITTED WILL BE READ, REGISTERED AND
CONSIDERED FOR ACTION.
Note that because of the change in exposure hours (change from 24h to 12h) the reporting frequency has changed. To ensure a stretch target for 2023 DO have defined this year’s
goal as 45% increase of the last three years of IMCA Observation frequency.

Synergi Case Management
DeepOcean have set a 60-day target for processing HSE Accidents and Quality Non-conformances. Below are the average processing time for region and country. Last 12
months DO have processed a total of 453 Synergi cases and have an average processing time of 51 days. This is very good!
For those who still have cases pending, you can access Synergi and review “my cases” and “my actions”. This way you can start by managing your own personal cases/actions
through to close-out. Link to Synergi system.

Leadership visits
Summary
The Group KPI for Senior Management Site Visits is four visits per year per senior leader to vessels /onshore worksites. The graph below shows the last 12 months of site visits.
For those that did not get out of the office and engage with our worksites to the desired level in 2022, we think 2023 will be your year☺! Remember to log your visits in the Leadership
Site Visits Power App.
A huge thanks also to worksites that have actively invited onshore leadership to visit and engage with our great offshore crews.

Situational overview
An ongoing trend in decreasing numbers of pirate attacks is good news for seafarers and subsea operations in the region. Within 2022, very few incidents were reported, a trend that
had already developed in the second half of 2021. Most importantly, only two seafarers were kidnapped in 2022 after 68 hostages were taken from ships in 2021 and 142 in 2020.
Many improvements have been realised within maritime security nationally and internationally which have aided this trend within the GoG. However, piracy remains merely one
symptom of insecurity at sea. Other illicit activities remain widespread throughout West and Central Africa which may impact this trend and influence an uptick in maritime threats.
Criminal groups known to be responsible for such strikes and based in the Niger Delta in recent years have simply shifted their attention to more lucrative criminal activities for the
time being
Piracy risk level is currently assessed as moderate within the outer risk area and high within the threat areas

Situational overview
The primary security threat within maritime operations in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) is theft / armed robbery attacks, this had been in decline recently following significant activity within
2020. However, further incidents in the area in 2022 realize an increase in threat level within the area. During the month of Dec 2 in field PSV was boarded by perpetrators who stole
equipment and departed without harm to crew.
Recent events within the region are seeing a more organized response from vessel crews with crews identifying the treats and taking actions to prevent boarding as well as safely
mustering in citadels. This best practice approach is now seeing a reduction in violent attacks
Operators and Coast Guard authorities have increase security measures in the area to combat ongoing threats of armed robbery and theft.
Deep Ocean have limited operations within offshore GOM / Carmen / Campeche, protocol’s the risk levels within these operations are assessed as moderate
