NEWARK BEACH
Beaches | Orkney

Newark Beach is found in Deerness, Orkney.

In the 1890s, it is said that a mermaid was sighted

here for several summers. Today, this sandy beach
can be visited via a pleasant coastal walk to Point of
Ayre. You can spot wading birds at Newark Bay
including purple sandpipers and ringed plovers, and
at the eastern end you will find a car park and pretty
golden sand.
