Historical timeline of Yves Saint Laurent

 Yves Mathieu Saint Laurent was born on August 1, 1936, in Oran, Algeria.
 YSL wins the International Wool Secretariat design competition in 1953.
 The year was 1955. Michel de Brunhoff, the editor of French Vogue, introduced me to
Christian Dior.
 In 1958, Christian Dior's Trapeze collection makes its premiere. Pierre Berge is introduced.
 The year was 1959. The first costumes for Roland Petit's "Cyrano de Bergerac" ballet.
 In 1961, Yves Saint Laurent fashion house established in collaboration with Berge. Petit's
wife, the dancer Zizi Jeanmaire, received sets and costumes.
 The year was 1962. The first collection was created for Saint Laurent's own residence on Rue
Spontini. The peacoat was presented as a high fashion item. In 1963, YSL is hailed as a
fashion genius by Diana Vreeland.
 The year was 1964. The launch of the Y scent.
 In 1966, The first women's tuxedos. Andy Warhol-inspired gowns Rive Gauche ready-to-wear
store on Paris's Left Bank. Costumes for Jean Cocteau's "Les Monstres Sacres" reprise.
