Multiplying Farmers’ Income Through Fishery & Animal Husbandry
To take rich legacy of livestock and fish farming systems far ahead to a technologically advanced position, the F & ARD
department of Government of Odisha is playing a pivotal role. To showcase the emerging technologies, different livelihood
strategies and disseminate knowledge to the enthusiastic farming communities, this department has grounded the first ever
mega event named ‘MATSYA-PRANEE SAMAVESH, ODISHA’ this year from 16th-18th February at Janata Maidan,
Bhubaneswar. The Samavesh with the theme 'multiplying farmers income through fisheries & animal husbandry' aims to create
mass awareness and educate farmers of the state on scientific farming practices and adoption of modern technologies in
F&ARD sector for multiplying their income. Activities like stall exhibition, live animal & fish demonstration, general
meetings,farmers-scientists interaction through panel discussions, cultural programmes, felicitation of best farmers in dairy,
fisheries & Animal Husbandry sectors shall be organised in the Samavesh. Around 10,000 farmers, entrepreneurs & WSHG
members from across the state will attend the event, witness the exhibitions and participate in the activities. Around 200 stalls
inside exhibition halls and equal number of stalls in open space involving various government departments, organisations,
universities, companies, WSHGs, FPOs, startups shall be installed in the Samavesh to attract farmers, entrepreneurs & public
for educative purposes.

Sciences - Master of Science Graduate Study Program, School of Veterinary Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He has got vast experience in formulating various policies for the
government so also associated with different value chain studies relating to poultry and
livestock sector in Odisha. He is a versatile trainer in soft skill and management.

Diseases (NSPAAD) funded by NFDB and RGCA routine surveillance. He has specialization in
Molecular diagnosis and Biotechnology, Virology, Shrimp disease Diagnosis and Aquaculture,
Microbiology. He has done several research works which includes Developed PCR methods for
plant and Aquaculture pathogens. He has 20 publications in his name in different journals of
National and international level
