 Undoubtedly, these are incredibly
challenging times. The majority of
problems stem from polarisation and
misconceptions across various
cultures about diverse ways of life,
love, work, and ideologies. Film
festivals, in essence, serve as a
counter force to societal polarization,
fostering social interaction, sharing,
and presenting a more authentic

FESTIVAL DIRECTOR these festivals possess the power to
uphold and strengthen our freedom,
democracy, and peace.

The International Film Festival of Thrissur (IFFT), established in

2004, has evolved into one of the state's largest and most
distinguished festivals of its kind.

The 19th edition of the festival (IFFT-2024), scheduled for March 22-
27 is organized by the Thrissur Janasamskara Chalachitra
Kendram, Thrissur Corporation, Kerala Chalachitra Academy, FFSI
Keralam & Thrissur Jilla Panchayath. Featuring over 65 visually and
culturally captivating films and documentaries, the festival will
illuminate diverse cultures, vibrant lifestyles, and astounding
cinematic brilliance. In addition to these screenings, ten nearby
locations will host satellite film festivals, which will enhance the
liveliness of the event.

In the six months leading up to the launch of the 19th edition of

IFFT, we successfully hosted the International Children's Film
Festival (ICFFK-2023) and the International Folklore Film Festival
(IFFF-2024). We are optimistic that IFFT-2024 will serve as a
platform for the exploration of diverse cultural narratives and the
convergence of cinematic talent. Let us come together to
celebrate it.
