How to make homemade meaty cat food treats

Materials you need


• A chopping board
• Cat food – wet meat
• A knife
• Baking tray and baking paper
• An oven
• An adult (to help!)

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 175°C.

2. Tip out the cat food (wet meat) onto the


chopping board.

3. Cut the food into bite-sized chunks.

4. Line the baking tray with baking paper.

5. Evenly space the bite-sized chunks onto


the tray.

6. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes (or until


crispy).

7. Allow the treats to cool, safely away from


your cats!

8. Share the treats with your cats or place


into a puzzle feeder.

9. Hint: use treats occasionally and take


from daily rations.

Ingredients – biscuits
• 340g/12oz butter
• 170g/6oz caster sugar
• 510g/18oz plain flour

Ingredients – filling
• 140g/5oz butter
• 340g/12oz icing sugar
• jam of your choice

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

2. Mix butter and sugar together in a bowl.

3. Add plain flour and mix until all ingredients are


combined.

4. Bring the mixture together with your hands and


form a ball.

5. Roll the mixture on a floured surface to about


1cm thickness. Then cut 12 large rounds using
a circular cutter.

6. Using smaller cutters, cut pawprint shapes out


of half of the rounds.

7. Place all rounds on a baking tray and cook in


the oven for 12-14 minutes. Allow to cool.

8. Combine the butter and icing sugar. Spread or


pipe onto half the rounds. Pipe or spread jam on
top of the buttercream.

9. Finally, gently press the pawprint tops onto


each of your jam and cream rounds. Enjoy!
