Window cleaner

Most of these products are made with ammonia, a compound that in large concentrations
can irritate the eyes, throat and respiratory tract, as well as inflame the lungs and destroy the
gastric mucosa and damage the epidermis.
Window cleaner poisoning occurs when someone ingests or inhales large amounts of this
product. This can happen accidentally or intentionally.

Toxic element
Other types of window cleaners may contain:

Ammonia: Ammonia is corrosive to skin, eyes and lungs, even in low concentrations in air.
Symptoms of exposure to anhydrous ammonia may include burns to skin and eyes, severe
sore throat, and coughing/wheezing.
Ethanol
Isopropyl alcohol
Methanol
Harmful in case of glass cleaner use
Inhalation Harmful if swallowed and respiratory tract. -Harmful in contact with skin in case of
prolonged use. -Contact with eyes Causes eye irritation.

Not all the window cleaners contain this things, however, all of them contain detergents.
Ingestion of these toxicants can have serious effects on many parts of the body. Burns to
the respiratory tract or gastrointestinal tract can cause tissue death. This can result in
infection, shock and death, even several months after ingestion of the substance.

All this will affect the humans, taking into account that we are those that use it

How can we change the components of the window cleaners that have side effects on its
consumers?

Objectives
General:
To create a new window cleaner that does not contain chemicals that are harmful to health
or the skin.

Specific:
1. To investigate which are those components of the window cleaner that affect us
2. To analyze the main consequences that window cleaner generates for its consumers.
3. To reformulate the components to create a more adaptable and less risky window
cleaner.

Justification

We chose this product because generally the Window cleaner is a product that is used by
the majority of people in daily use and it is important to inform about the risks that come with
using it and know how to buy one that does not contain harmful components.
