1.2.1.2.1 UNR 83.08 - Emission of Pollutants

1. Introduction
A new UN Regulation XXX (WLTP) will be introduced. It will include the Type 1 test
(based on GTR 15 (WLTP)) and the Type 4 test (based on GTR 19 (WLTP EVAP)).

There will be different levels of stringency of UNR XXX (WLTP).

 Regional levels, e.g. for EU and Japan, as Levels 1a, 1b, etc. The regional level
can be accepted optionally by other Contracting Parties.
 A harmonized Level 2, containing the most stringent requirements. All Contracting
Parties will accept this most stringent Level 2.

Additionally, a new 08 series to UN Regulation No 83 will be introduced (R83.08). It will

be a “copy and paste” of the Euro 6d Regulation (EU) 2017/1151, except for Type 1 test
(WLTP) and Type 4 test (evaporative emissions).

The NEDC based Type 2, 3, 5, and 6 tests, in-service conformity, OBD, ambient
temperature correction test (ATCT) and real driving emissions (RDE) will be copied from
the Euro 6d Regulation (EU) 2017/1151.

For Type 1 and Type 4 test, R83.08 will refer to the new UNR XXX (WLTP).

tests will be deleted in R83.08.
