Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO)

Visa Details Check

This document contains the result of a Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) Visa Details Check and is valid as at Thursday October 12,
2023 01:05:08 (AEDT) Canberra, Australia (GMT +1100).

Important information about VEVO

A VEVO check shows the visa details and conditions associated with a particular visa holder, such as work or study rights.

VEVO Visa Details Checks are only current at the time conducted and should only be considered valid when received directly from the VEVO
system.

Not all visas allow people to work. Some Australian visas have work conditions which may include not being able to work at all or only being
able to work with a certain employer or a specific number of hours.

Foreign nationals who do not have a valid visa are not allowed to work in Australia. This might include a person whose visa has expired or been
cancelled.

Employers are strongly encouraged to conduct their own VEVO Visa Details Check as it is a criminal offense to hire or refer illegal workers in
Australia.

Employers who hire, or refer workers without the right to work, face serious penalties including fines or imprisonment.

With the permission of the visa holder, registered employers may conduct a VEVO Visa Details Check to confirm the visa details and conditions
of employees. For more information about employing a visa holder, please go to: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/legalworkers

Visa condition(s)

8105 - Work restriction:

This condition means you cannot work in Australia before your course starts unless at the time of applying for this visa, you held another visa
that permitted you to work in Australia.

You also cannot work more than 48 hours a fortnight when your course of study or training is in session.

The 48 hours a fortnight work limit does not apply if:

• you engage in work that was specified as a requirement of the course when the course particulars were entered into the Commonwealth
Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students; or

• you hold a student visa granted in relation to a masters degree by research or doctoral degree and you have commenced the masters
degree by research or doctoral degree.

A fortnight means the period of 14 days starting on a Monday.

On 9 May 2023 the Government temporarily removed the working hour limit for student visa holders already working in the aged care sector.
This measure only applies to work in the aged care sector and will end on 31 December 2023.

Understanding your work rights

We are working with the Fair Work Ombudsman to help employees and employers understand and follow Australian Workplace laws. All people
working in Australia have rights and protections at work.

For information on pay rates, shift calculations, leave arrangements and notice and redundancy entitlements see Pay and Conditions Tool
(PACT).

The Fair Work Ombudsman website has more information on workplace rights and entitlements, see visa holders and migrant workers.

8202 - Meet course requirements:

You must:

• remain enrolled in a registered course (if you are a Foreign Affairs or Defence sponsored student or a secondary exchange student you
must maintain full-time enrolment in your course of study or training)

• maintain enrolment in a registered course that is the same Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level or higher for which we
granted your student visa, unless changing from AQF level 10 to level 9. See: Change in study situation.

• maintain satisfactory attendance in your course and course progress for each study period as required by your education provider.

Note: A registered course is one that is on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).

Generally course gaps should not be more 2 months. A course gap can be more than 2 months if:

• it is the end of the academic year study break

• you are affected by education provider default

• you have completed your course and you are applying for a new visa

8208 - No study change related to critical technology without approval:

Note: There are currently no technologies specified as critical technology for condition 8208 and related purposes. If your visa is subject to
condition 8208, you are not required to take any action to comply with this condition at this time. We will update this page when 'kinds of critical
technology' have been specified for the purpose of condition 8208. When your obligations under condition 8208 begin, this page will include a
link for requesting approval to change your course of study.

You must not undertake critical technology related study without the approval of the Minister for Home Affairs.

Critical technology related study includes:
