Paragraph:

• Write a paragraph of 100-120 words to describe a shopping centre.

There are more and more shopping malls popping up in Vietnamese cities nowadays. I’m going to
talk about Royal City, one of the biggest shopping centres in Hanoi. It was constructed in 2010 and
officially opened a few months later. Because Royal City’s located in the city centre, it is easily
accessible by motorbike and car. This shopping centre is quite special because of its underground
space which includes a cinema and an ice rink. You can find everything you’d ever need in the wide
range of shops in Royal City, everything from designer clothes to shoes to home wares to books to
electronic goods and office wares. There are also lots of restaurants serving a range of international
cuisines which attract lots of people. I think it’s quite convenient to go shopping in Royal City because
of the wealth of options you have in one place. You can get everything you need for a few weeks there
and so don’t have to go to lots of different places to stock up. Moreover, prices for most of the
products there are quite reasonable, which allows more people to afford their necessities.

• Write a paragraph of 100-120 words to describe a friend you had as a child or teenager.
I guess most of us always have a memorable childhood friend and I am no exception. When I was
little, I had a best friend named Luke. We've known each other since kindergarten. He was an
optimistic kid the complete opposite of me, a quiet kid. We happened to hang out together after school.
Although our town is a small and unassuming place, we always find something interesting to do
together every time we meet. I remember one time we were playing hide and seek and I forgot to find
my friend, leaving my friend waiting in frustration. After that incident, we still made up and found the
best in each other. This is the best trait I like about my friend because he never admits to being at fault.
Through ups and downs, we went our separate ways. I am currently an office worker and he is a real
estate salesman. Despite all the differences in careers and working hours, we still manage to keep in
touch and I look forward to catching up with him one day. It can be said that our friendship has stood
the test of time and nothing can replace a precious friendship like me and Luke
• Write a paragraph of 100-120 words to describe your last trip to a new city./ a new place or city that you
recently visited/ an interesting place that you visited recently/
In order to escape the hot weather in summer, I decided to travel to Sapa for a few days. On coming to Sapa, I
was not disappointed. Sapa’s natural scenery was breathtaking with mountains, flowers, and forests. In addition,
the weather was quite gentle, which was very suitable for traveling. When I was there, I visited many wonderful
places. Cat Cat village is an example. It is one of the oldest villages in Sapa. There, I was able to learn about the
culture and lifestyle of the Hmong people. Additionally, I also went to the Sapa market for a traditional
shopping experience. The market is always crowded. It offers a wide range of local produce as well as
handicrafts. After that, I also went to some local food stores to try out Sapa’s cuisine. The dish that I enjoyed
most was the sturgeon hotpot. All in all, the trip to Sapa was very unforgettable for me. If you are looking for a
place to travel to during the summer, I will definitely recommend Sapa!

Tet is a national festival in Vietnam, many Vietnamese people love it. Tet is celebrated in the
January of lunar calendar to welcome the new year. Before Tet, people buy food, fruits, drink,
flowers, and the most important is the peach blossom or kumquat tree. Children are bought
new clothes by their parents. On New Year's Eve, all of the family members gather to give
each other the best wishes and have a meal. During Tet, people can go to the parks,
stadiums to see fireworks, it is very beautiful. Children can receive lucky-money from parents
and relatives. I staying at home to watch the New Year's comedies, it makes me laugh a lot.
On the next day, people go to the temple to thank the ancestors, Buddha who helped
everyone in the old year. In short, I really love Tet, and I hope that Tet will always be an
important festival for Vietnamese people.

• Write a paragraph of 100-120 words about the job you would like to do in the future.
In the future, I want to become an interpreter, it's been my dream since I was a little boy. Being an
interpreter is exciting and there are several reasons for my choice. First, I want to learn more languages.
During my childhood, I was impressed by Japanese anime. I spent some time watching and having trouble
with it. I couldn't understand what they conveyed because of the difference between us. From then on, I
was determined and thinking about learning English. Moreover, I can also restrict the different cultures
among the countries of the world. Besides, I can ask about some civilizations and make it easier for people
to contact. I know my ability is not equal to many people but I am still improving my skills day by day
and all difficulties will not be able to hold me back. In short, I want to be an excellent interpreter when I
grow up.
