Triduum

for the SOLEMNITY OF ST. MARY DOMENICA MAZZARELLO

May 10-12, 2024
INTRODUCTION:
Leader: With grateful hearts, we rejoice and thank the Blessed Trinity for the gift of St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello to
our Institute and the Church. Her life and work, alongside the first communities of Sisters, inspire us to creatively and
boldly relive the spirit of Mornese and Nizza Monferrato with young people and our lay collaborators.
Day 1. Offering of globe (Sr. Virgie)
The mandate 'I entrust them to you', from Borgo Alto in Mornese, extended itself throughout the world. It crossed seas
and oceans, reaching unknown lands and, year after year, as a providential 'charismatic voyage' it lands today in our very
diversified land as a 'new’ call. We thank the Lord for giving Mother Mazzarello a generous and trusting heart; for making
her an instrument of His love. She opened the door of the Institute to the world by sending missionaries even at their
young age.
Today, the first day of our Triduum, we remember all our missionaries who continue to respond to the call of God through
the charism handed down to us by Mo. Mazzarello and our Frist Sisters.
Day 2. Offering of Crucifix: (Sr. Arlene)
“I entrust them to you” -- At Mornese, Mary accompanied the young Main especially during the time of uncertainty about
her future, towards a new horizon of the mission to take care of poor girls. Mary is the Mother who, accompanied her on
the journey of the sequela.
We thank the Lord for the maternal heart and self-sacrificing presence of Mother Mazzarello. With her loving care, she
nurtured her daughters in both joys and sorrows. And with our Blessed Mother at her side, she and the Sisters were
sustained in their mission to educate the young.
Today, We remember Mo. Chiara Cazzuola, and her Council who continue to give life to the whole Institute by keeping
the fire burning brightly for the salvation of the young.
Day 3. Offering of Constitutions: (Sr. Violeta)
With gratitude and wonder in contemplating the richness of sanctity, of educational passion, of missionary creativity that
still flourishes in the Institute today, we see the seeds of life everywhere, signs of hope that make us exalt with joy.
Forever we are grateful to God and to Mary Help of Christians for the great history we have lived as FMA up to now
because of the fidelity of our dear Mother Mazzarello to God, to the Church, and to Don Bosco.
With her words: "Courage! Let us go ahead with a great and generous heart." (L 47, 12), we remember today all
Daughters of Mary Help of Cristians (FMA) that they may revitalize the beauty of the charism so that It may be more
meaningful and contagious in the diverse contexts of today's world.
