I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
• compares objects using the comparative words long, longer, and longest;
• arrange objects using the comparative words long, longer, and longest; and
• show cooperation in doing group activity.

A. Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of time and nonstandard units of length, mass and
capacity.
B. Performance Standard:
The learner is able to apply knowledge of time and non-standard measures of length, mass,
and capacity in mathematical problems and real-life situations
C. Learning Competency:
M1ME-IVc-19: compares objects using comparative words: short, shorter, shortest; long,
longer, longest; heavy, heavier, heaviest; light, lighter, lightest.

Today, we are going to discuss the
comparing of objects using the
comparative words long, longer, and
longest. Let’s examine the 昀椀 rst picture.

Let’s examine the three pencils. All of the
pencils are long but there is a pencil
which is longer than the other. Let’s
examine pencil 1 and 2. Which among
them is longer?

2. Modeling
I’m going to show you another set of
pictures.
(Show the second set of picture)

They are Rizza, Andrea, and Sarah. They


wear di 昀昀 erent skirt. Let’s examine their
skirts. Their skirts have di 昀昀 erent length.
Observe Rizza and Andrea’s skirt. Who
among them wear a longer skirt?
Andrea’s skirt is longer than Rizza.
Among the three of them, who has the
longest skirt?
Sarah has the longest skirt.
As you can see, the girls are arranged
according to the length of their skirt.
Rizza wear a long skirt. Andrea wear the
longer skirt and Sarah wear the longest
skirt. Here is another set of picture

It is a picture of logs with di 昀 昀 erent


length. Let’s examine the 昀 椀 rst and
second log. Which among them is longer?
The second log is longer than the 昀椀 rst log.

longest in comparing the length of each

length of the log using the three
comparative words?

We will now have a group work. I will
divide you into three groups. The 昀 椀
rst row will be the 昀椀 rst group. The
second row will be the second group
and the third row will be the third
