Activity:
Description In line with DepEd Order No. 47 s. 2014, Recognizing the significant role
and contribution of the Supreme Elementary Learners Government
( SELG) former name Supreme Pupil Government( SPG) in the schools
and under the Student Government Program ( GSP), the Department of
Education (DepEd) issues the enclosed Constitution and By-Laws of the
Supreme pupil Government in Elementary Schools, together with other
documents for implementation in all schools nationwide starting school
year 2014-2015. Enclosed are the following documents for reference:

Enclosed No. 2 – Guidelines on the Adoption of the Constitution and

By-Laws of SPG in Elementary.

Enclosed No. 3 – SPG on Elections Standard Election Code

Objectives 1. To elect new set of SELG Officers for S.Y 2024-2025.
2. To develop pupils into well-equipped leaders who can take their
place responsibly in-service of the community.
3. To train the pupils to become better citizens in the future and to
develop pupils’ skills and abilities in achieving quality education
and academic excellence.
Preliminaries It was a one week activity before the schedule date of SELG Election.
Here are the schedule of activities for SPG Election S.Y 2024-2025
1. Filing of Certificates of Candidacy(COC)- April 26, 2024
2. Announcement of the Official List of Candidates and Briefing of
Qualified Candidate.
3. There will be an orientation to qualified candidates.
4. Room to room campaign after the orientation. – April 29- May
5. General Campaign Rally- May 2, 2024
6. Election and Proclamation of winners- May 3, 2024
Design and Methodology The event was successfully done with the collaborative efforts of the
of the Event Principal, SELG Adviser, SELG Comelec Officials, Teachers, and pupils.
Management and The Gandara II Central Elementary School successfully conducted the
Monitoring Strategies Supreme Elementary Learners Government (SELG) election held on May
3, 2024. It was a one-week activity before the scheduled date of the SELG
election. All pupils from Grade 2 up to Grade 6 participated in the said
event. There were two (2) participating parties (KABATAAN and UNITY
Party), and each had ten (11) officers aiming to be in the position they
 desired. The screening for the SPG candidates was held on April 26,
2024, in the kindergarten room. The screening involved the
interrogation of the selected pupils from grades 2 to 5. Its mission was to
test the determination and will of the candidates in pursuing their goal
of becoming the pupil leader of Gandara 2 Central Elementary School.
After the screening, the filling of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) took
place on the following day. The candidates filed their COC together with
their respective groups or parties. During the last hour of the filing of
COC’s, the SELG adviser, Mr. Franklin B. Bernales, conducted an
orientation at the said event. He enumerated and discussed the
responsibilities, requirements, activities, and consequences of being a
SELG officer. After the meeting, the official list of candidates for the SPG
Election of Officers SY 2024-2025 was publicly announced to the pupils.
They were introduced to the pupils with brief information. He also called
a meeting for SELG Comelec officials composed of outgoing SELG officers
for FY 2023-2024. In this meeting, the SELG Comelec duties and
responsibilities were discussed. The campaign period took place from
April 29 to May 1, 2024. The candidates were given a time to have their
room-to-room campaign. Each party independently planned their
campaign strategies and went room-to-room to introduce themselves
and persuade the pupils to support and vote for them. There was also a
general campaign rally wherein the two parties enumerated and
explained their plans and platforms for government. The following day,
the first automated election happened. The election activity was done in
the kindergarten classroom through online voting. There was a smooth
flow of the election, as assisted by student Comelec officials.
Logistic Arrangements Election activity was held in the kindergarten classroom by following the
system of elections explained by the student Comelec officials. It was an
automated election.
Results:
Output/s The activity was successfully done with the support of the pupils and
teachers.
Innovation/ Initiatives Every adviser assured that all pupils present on that day will
participated in SELG Election.
Participant’s Feedback Participants were quite satisfied with the untiring efforts of the SELG
adviser and Comelec officials, composed of outgoing SELG officers for
the school year 2023-2024. Everybody was excited to vote because it
was the first time that the election happened through online voting.
Issues and Challenges To elect deserving and responsible SPG officers for S.Y 2024-2025
Intervention SELG Adviser and SELG Comelec officials follow the guidelines of the
Implemented DepEd Order No. 47, s. 2014 and Division Memorandum No.0178, s.
2024
New Planned Strategies Strict screening for pupils aiming to be the next SELG officers, especially
for next conduct for the positions of President and Vice President. The candidates must
prepare the needed documents or requirements ahead of time.
