II.Global pandemic that has altered the entire core of our existence.

Disease prevention is mostly a concern of communication science. This global pandemic requires a
comprehensive natural and social science to manage it.

In our present situation, COVID-19 hits countries worldwide. Explain how valuable are scientific research
and technology in keeping us alive. Also explain COVID-19 pandemic as a topic under both natural and
social sciences. Using the steps of scientific methods in lesson 1. Cite your answer.

The pandemic struck our society to its knees, all activities has been stopped due to nation wide
quarantine. The contribution of science, technology and innovation at this time of crisis linked to the
coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is key for facing current health challenges, but also for supporting
production efforts aimed at economic recovery after the pandemic.

But the question really here is that how valuable is scientific research for us to cope from this COVID 19
pandemic?
The importance of scientific research and technology is very crucial for us people and the society, because
of it vaccines are created for us to combat the effects of the virus if ever we have been infected. Also testing
kits, quarantine and other pre-emptive are implemented through the help of research for to prevent the
spread of the virus. In the other hand, In the field of social sciences. COVID 19 has impacted our way of life
in this past 2 years, all activities had been stopped for safety purposes. it includes gatherings, work ,
businesses and other activities that requires physical contact. Also the effect of it is very crucial to the
economy of every country because businesses have been stopped. But,We have witnessed a huge number
of epidemiological, clinical and laboratory studies which are helping policy makers to understand how best to
manage the current and future clinical and public health responses. In addition to impacting on infection and
mortality rates due to COVID-19, government responses to reducing viral spread and 'flattening the curve'
have meant huge impacts on social and economic life across the globe. In the field of natural sciences.
Scientists, epidemiologist, and doctors are constantly doing research of how to prevent the virus. Its not an
easy task for the because the virus is constantly mutating. But thanks to the current knowledge of our
scientist that the vaccines just takes one year and some months to be available for distribution.

I have done my research about how valuable are scientific research and technology through internet and I
cited through credible websites.

Truly scientific research and technology are valuable to us.

I there fore conclude that scientific research and technology are the main key points for our society to cope
from this pandemic.

V. From among the great scientists listed here and from your past knowledge, identify
one great scientist whose life or invention you admire the most. Write about why you
admire the scientist or his invention. Make your answer as brief and concise as
possible.

For me, my most admired scientist is Nikola Tesla. Because he is one of the best electrical engineer in the
world. The thing that I admire him the most is how he nearly invented and paved way to free electricity for all
and his modern AC invention that helped so much in our industry today. Tesla invented electric oscillators,
meters, improved lights and the high-voltage transformer known as the Tesla coil. He also experimented with
X-rays, gave short-range demonstrations of radio communication two years before Guglielmo Marconi and
piloted a radio-controlled boat around a pool in Madison Square Garden. I also admire him because he
loves to help people.
