Inside The Ritz Paris

Easily a highlight of my most

recent trip to Paris was getting

a tour of The Ritz Paris . This

famed property is part of Paris’s

storied history and while I have

visited several times to get a

special drink at Bar Hemingway ,

the tour was a chance to get up

close and personal with the

property ’s offerings for their

guests.

As the founder of Paris,

Perfected I tour and stay at to

vet the best hotels in Paris to

help my clients discern which

property may be best for them.

I help my Paris, Perfected

clients navigate the landscape

of where to stay and I can also

provide VIP perks at a variety of

properties. So if you need help

planning your trip to Paris, I’d

love to help! You can

visit ParisPerfected.com to

begin your order and read on

below for the perks I can get

you at the Ritz Paris in

particular.

Inside The Ritz Paris

In several Paris, Perfected

bookings I’ve been asked “Is the

Ritz Paris worth it?” and I also

was interested in better

understanding the dining

options on property – both for

guests and visitors – and the

unique cooking experiences

offered by the hotel. Today I’ll

be sharing with you an inside

look at this gorgeous hotel.

The Ritz Paris sits on the city ’s

famous Place Vendôme in the

1st arrondissement. It was

founded in 1898 by the Swiss

hotelier César Ritz in

collaboration with the French

chef Auguste Escoffier. It was

among the first hotels in Europe

to provide an en suite

bathroom, electricity, and a

telephone for each room. And in

2012 the hotel closed entirely to

undergo a four year,

multimillion-euro renovation. It

re-opened in 2016 with many

impactful yet subtle changes.

A common misconception is that

the property is associated with

The Ritz Carlton portfolio.

However, The Ritz Paris is

actually an independent hotel.

They only license the use of

their name to The Ritz Carlton

properties to be able to use it.

Bar Vendôme
Bar Vendôme serves a loyal

clientele and even features a

terrace with a retractable roof

ensuring it can be enjoyed year

round. After 6PM you’ll often

find live music here as well. Also

on property you’ll find the

aforementioned Bar Hemingway

serving up special ocassion

magnificent and inventive

cocktails as well as The Ritz Bar .

Salon Proust
Salon Proust , named after

French writer Marcel Proust, is a

cozy place to enjoy afternoon

tea. The Ritz Paris offers two

different teas – one English

style like you’d find in the

United Kingdom served in Bar

Vendôme and one that is more

in the style of the French served

in Salon Proust. Both often book

up so be sure to make a

reservation at least one week in

advance. On my next trip to

Paris I intend to try the French-

style teatime.

Now onto the bedrooms. We

were shown a variety of levels

of suites and rooms to get an

idea of the hotel’s offerings.

From the grand Windsor Suite

to Deluxe and Executive rooms –

all are impeccably designed and

retain the grandeur of 18th

century France. The property

also has a handful of Prestige

Suites. Many are named after

some of their most famous

guests such as Ernest

Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald

and perhaps the most famous of

all, Coco Chanel who had one of

her apartments at the property

for nearly 30 years. We had the

chance to tour it however no

photos are allowed due to

copyright. But let me tell you, it

is as divine and as chic as you

would imagine. If you’d like a

peek inside Suite Coco Chanel,

you can see some of it here .

One of the many things that

sets The Ritz Paris apart is the

fact that for the 142 rooms they

have (71 of which are suites),

they have a staff of over 600

that serve the guests in those

142 rooms. This means that

every need, every request is

easily answered and seamlessly

arranged. Another amazing

benefit of staying here that I

learned? The Ritz Paris does not

enforce check in or check out

times.

Your room is guaranteed to

be yours for whenever you
need it on the days for which
you are booked.

Attention to detail is one of the

marks of the hotel’s luxury
