is appropriate for the development of a collection (Assessment 2). Avoid vague themes that will
not translate to garment design. Remember that the concept you choose now will form the
inspiration for your garments and will be used all semester.
Submssion:

Week One Assessment One
Although – this is due in week 3 and you will be presenting your ideas to the rest of class.
Start collecting and writing down your key words, people, style destinations etc By next week
you should bring in lots of loose items to play with and explore, bring in magazines to cut up
To get an idea, I want to have a bit of a class discussion later on who you are, what your
interests are and where you are leaning with your conceptual ideas. This doesn’t have to be
cast in stone at this stage, but it will help us facilitate a conversation where we can start to see
where individuals ideas are directed so that we can all help each other.
As you are searching for images – you might find something that you know another student
would like – this is what being part of a creative learning community is all about – so be
generous with your help and ideas.
