Dear Parents and Students,

We are committed to protecting our environment by reducing the amount of waste that we produce, of
waste that we produce, and we invite you to partner with us in realising this mission.

Paper Consumption: Each year Burshell’s Commercial College uses more than 1,500 pieces of
paper per student. If all that paper were placed in our multipurpose hall, the pile would reach the
ceiling! In an effort to reduce our paper consumption by at least 50% we will be requiring that all
assignments submitted via email to our lecturers. Our staff will also be using email to deliver hand-
outs, assignment brief and other teaching and learning resources to our students.

Recycling :Envrosavers Limited has agreed to donate separate waste bins for plastics and aluminium
cans. We will receive a donation of $10 for each filled bin of plastic and $15 for each filled bin of
aluminium. The proceeds of this venture will be used to fund our recently established
Environmentalist Club.

Energy: If we save energy, it will help us to modify the ‘greenhouse effect’. “Please”:

Keep the windows and doors closed in the air-conditioned classrooms.

Turn off all lights in unused rooms

Do not leave taps dripping in the washrooms

Our Environmentalist Club invites all students to participate in designing its logo and creating its
motto. Please concrete the attached entry form and return it to the school’s office on or before 7 May.
You can win exciting prizes including a smartphone, a 9-inch tablet computer, and cash. Please see the
