FIRE-FIGHTING
Breathing Apparatus Tender
Description
SCDF has three Breathing Apparatus Tenders which are strategically located in
Central Fire Station, Bukit Batok Fire Station and Banyan Fire Station for island wide
coverage. This support appliance will be deployed for all major incidents to provide
our fire fighting crews with adequate breathing apparatus sets to handle prolonged
operations.

Combined Platform Ladder (53m)
Description
The Combined Platform Ladder (CPL) 53m is one of the special appliances
used for conducting aerial fire-fighting during high-rise operations. As its name
suggests, it can reach heights of up to 53 metres, the equivalent of 18 storey.

Damage Control Tender

Description
The Damage Control Tender (DCT) is deployed for all major incidents to support
our fire-fighting crews with ventilation and water extraction operations. In the DCT
are advanced equipment that can expediently blow or extract smoke from smoke-
logged areas, or remove water from flooded areas.

Fire Bike (2-wheeler)
Description
As a Life Saving Force, time taken to respond to every incidents is very crucial as
it directly dictates the escalation of the incidents. In order to arrive at the incident
site as fast as possible, fire bike is an ideal appliances to meet this criteria. They
are also the vanguard of the fire stations as they will be the first appliances to be
dispatch to any fire related incidents and cardiac arrest cases. It carries the basic
fire fighting equipment such as Forcible Entry Tool, Fire extinguisher, Compressed
Air Foam (CAF) backpack which can either be in spray or jet mode as well as the
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to render cardiac arrest situations.

Description

Light Fire Attack Vehicle
Description
The Light Fire Attack Vehicle (LFAV), also known as the “Red Rhino”, is an
innovation initiative from SCDF, designed and built by SCDF and Delgro. The
LFAV is also a compact, highly maneuverable fire fighting vehicle used to respond
to fire incidents more quickly.

Mini Rhino
Description

The Mini-Rhino is a new generation Fire Fighting and Rescue Vehicle innovated
to address issues associated with fire fighting in tight spaces. Its compact frame
allows it to maneuver with ease through narrow alleys and traffic congestion. The
Mini-Rhino features a 2-man crew operation which allows SCDF to deploy its fire
fighting resources more efficiently for small fires. The Mini Rhino is equipped with
a fire pump capable of delivering 2 hose line of water jets at 7 bars pressure, a
water mist gun system and rescue tools like the Rabbit tool and disc grinder for
forcible and cutting operations

Pump Ladder with Hasty Decontamination
Capability
Description
The Pump Ladder (PL) is also known as the fire pumper. The PL showcases one of
the mainstays of SCDF's firefighting capability and contains varied equipment. The
SCDF fire pumpers are retrofitted with shower heads and curtains for
decontamination purposes.

Tracked Fire-Fighting Vehicle
Description
The Tracked Fire-fighting Vehicle (TFV) is the first of its kind in the world and is
specially innovated by SCDF to tackle vegetation fires. The unique feature is the
articulation, which provides stability when traveling on uneven terrain. The front
part of the vehicle comprises the cabin; a compartment which houses some
firefighting equipment and the water mist system. There is an electric monitor at
the top of the vehicle and mounted in front of the vehicle is the sprinkler system,
which is used to extinguished the ground fires in front. This vehicle was introduced
in 2006 and had proven to be very effective against vegetation fires.

Amphibious Search & Rescue Vehicle
Description
The Amphibious Search and Rescue vehicle is a SCDF innovation. It is currently
deployed at DART, Tampines and Central Fire Stations. The vehicle can be
deployed from land to water directly. In water, it has an edge over conventional
rescue boat in its ease of launching into water bodies and deeper penetration into
swampy areas to conduct water rescue.

Description
Dart Rescue Vehicle (DRV) is a SCDF frontline rescue vehicle utilized by SCDF
Commanders to perform both reconnaissance and rescue operations during local
and overseas deployment.

Heavy Rescue Tender
Description
The Heavy Rescue Tender (HRT) is designed for handling heavy USAR
operations especially during building collapse or industrial/ construction accident.
The HRT is installed with a lifting crane, loading ramp, electrical and removable
rear module. In addition, the HRT carries the full compliment of water rescue
equipment to respond to water rescue incidents.

Description
The Rescue Dog Tender (RDT) is a special vehicle designed for Search & Rescue

Description
SCDF Ambulance is a frontline vehicle that respond to all emergency medical
cases including trauma, medical and even maternity calls. Other incidents include
road traffic accidents, person collapse without reason, or any casualties which
require medical attention.

Description

The Fast Response Paramedics [FRP] on bikes are deployed to gain quicker
access to the patient in providing initial assessment and critical medical
intervention at scene.

Station With Immediate First Aid Treatment
Description
The Swift ( Station With Immediate First Aid Treatment ) is an innovation of SCDF
and was introduced in 2004. It is a medical support vehicle and it is deploy on-site
in response to a mass casualty incident. The purpose of the Swift is to increase
the chance of survival of the severely injured casualties.

Dry Decontamination Vacuum Oven
Description

The Dry Decontamination Vacuum Oven (DDVO) is a SCDF innovation, which


uses a combination of vacuum and infra-red heat source technology to vaporize
contaminant. It is safely used for dry decontaminating of sensitive and delicate
equipment and personal belongings during Chemical, Biological and
Radiological incidents.

• Comprises an Oven tank (for


placing personal belongings)
• 4 sets of infrared red (IR) emitters
(for setting oven ambient
temperature)
• IR emitters temperature can be
programmed up to 700°C.
• Comprises a Vacuum Pump with
operating capacity of 6½m³/hr.

Description
The HazMat Control Vehicle is specially designed for response to large-scale
HazMat incidents. It is equipped with state-of-the-art detection and monitoring
systems to provide on-site threat assessment.

HazMat Mobile Scrubber
Description
The Hazmat Mobile Scrubber (HMS) is developed by SCDF as part of the national
efforts to enhance the SCDF HazMat response capability, especially in the scope of
mitigation of toxic release.

• Removal of up to 3.5 metric tones of
hazardous vapour.
• Entrapment Unit (To entrap and
channel toxic vapours via a long large
diameter flexible duct ending with

contaminants from the vapours by
passing them through a cascade of
HEPA filters)

via a large extraction fan at a high

• Neutralize large volume of any accidental or intentional release of toxic gases up to

Utility Buggy
Description
The HazMat Mitigation Vehicle is the latest generation vehicle in SCDF‟s HazMat
fleet to respond and mitigate HazMat incidents. It is equipped with specialized
equipment to enable HazMat Specialists to perform speedy rescue & evacuation,
rapid hazard detection and effective mitigation.

Description
The Personnel Decontamination Vehicle (PDV) is a customized 3-in-1 facility
specially designed by the SCDF. The PDV is utilized as a main casualty
decontamination facility, a mass casualty ambulance and a troop and rescue
equipment carrier.

Description
The Special Decontamination Vehicle (SDV) is a customized facility designed
by SCDF. The SDV is used for site decontamination operations during
Chemical, Biological and Radiological incidents. It has 4 main functions: Terrain
Decon, Material Decon, Interior Decon and valuables Decon.

Forward Command Vehicle – Tactical
Headquarters
Description
SCDF‟s very own in-house innovation, the Tactical HQ comprises of 5 Forward
Command Vehicles (FCV). Each FCV is a self-propelled vehicle which can be
deployed for Command and Control at incident sites. The vehicle is customized
with built-in expandable containers on both side of the bus, which gives a total
floor area of 42m² when expanded.

The Fire Investigation Vehicle (FIV) is a specialized vehicle on 24/7 standby to
respond to fire scene investigations. Equipped with custom-built compartments to
carry fire investigation equipment such as the Evidence Kit Bags, Evidence
Containers, Gas Sampling Kits and Hydrocarbon Gas Detectors.
