themselves these questions. This led them to have a great idea "Beka", a vegan food
restaurant, which also promotes love for animals. In establishing "Beka", these social
entrepreneurs have sought a way to promote a world without animal cruelty and improve
your health by eating differently and healthily.
2 Beka started because Karla, an animal lover, worried about their integrity. In most
cases, people do not think about animals for consumption, they only see them as food.
Unlike domestic animals, whom everyone defends and cares for. She decided to start with
herself, she started out as a vegan. Her best friend Rebeca started trying certain foods
and was surprised to notice that they tasted delicious. Rebaca realized it was a great idea
to share. Karla had never thought that her love for animals could bring her economic
benefits, but after 5 of his friends decided to try to give up animal-based food, she decided
to launch "Beka". Karla had spent 4 years studying vegan food and testing recipes with
Rebeca. They started with an online ordering page. Later they were successful enough to
open 3 restaurants in the city.
3 Karla and Rebeca are proud of the ingredients they use. Some of their special
dishes are rice noodles with sautéed tofu and pepper and the great quinoa, roasted
pumpkin and pomegranate salad. They are free of animal cruelty and take care of your
health, all meals are based on organic plants. The suppliers being the local farms in the
city. Beka manages different costs, trying to be accessible to everyone, giving a message
that to eat well you need a small budget and avoid meat.
4 Since the launch of Beka in 2020, Karla and Rebeca have obtained several
certifications for their recipes. They are a 5-star vegan restaurant, which means that it
represents the highest level of classification according to international hospitality
standards. These establishments are characterized by offering a complete and exceptional
culinary experience, where every detail is carefully selected and prepared. They are
certified by the CLEAN POINT QUALITY SEAL, it means that they are recognized for
hygienic quality, good practices by business unit, quality assurance, advice and validation.
They are also a "cruelty-free" company, as we mentioned before, they promote animal
safety of any species. Consumers can be sure that the food is helping animals and taking
care of their own health.
5 At first Karla's vision was to create a business that made positive changes. Karla
and Rebeca have chosen a common task, the care of animals, and they have created
vegan restaurants that are an indication to support this cause. Karla and Rebeca are
members of a network of companies that have promised to give 10% of their profits to
farms that are dedicated to the care and protection of animals for consumption. Karla
Carvallo and Rebeca Soto are true social entrepreneurs.
