Pakistan is very rich in natural resource but poor in management due to this people of this
beautiful country are poor. Pakistan nature resources value is countless but people & management
don’t want to use these resources. Peoples of Pakistan have no information & knowledge about the God
gifted country. Management of Pakistan only want to rule this country for corruption.

Some information about Pakistan’s natural resource.

Natural resources of country makes the country richer, Pakistan have countless natural resources.
Information about some natural resources are given below.

 Coal:
Pakistan recently discovered one low and four low-to-medium quality coal seams in the Punjab. Low
sulfur coal was recently reported at the Baluchistan and near Islamabad.

Pakistan have estimated 175 billion tons of Coal reserves. This is equal to 618 billion barrels of crude
oil. When compared to oil reserves his is more than twice the amount of the top four countries. If At
KSA’s current usage, the reserves would last more than 200 years. Coal reserves are estimated at 175
billion tons.

If Pakistan use coal resources for making electricity & people of pakistan can use this coal for a
century but management is not interest in these types of project.

 Oil and Gas:

Oil and gas estimated reserves are 885.3 billion cubic meters (as of January 2009). After this report
Pakistan discovered lot of other resources of oil & gas. In May 2013, Italian energy major ENI with joint
venture partners Pakistan Petroleum Limited and Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company made
the discovery in the Kirthar Fold Belt region 270 kilometres (170 miles) north of Karachi.

Japanese says about Pakistan

“Pakistan is using his silver fiber for burring their breads.”

 Gold Mine:
Pakistan have sixth largest gold mine but management of Pakistan lease mines to company of
Denmark & other countries. Now they are getting precious gold of Pakistan & earning billions of dollars
per year.

 Salt Mine:
The Khewra Salt Mine is located in Khewra, north of Pind Dadan Khan, an administrative subdivision of
Jhelum District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is Pakistan's largest and oldest salt mine and the world's second
largest. Some private companies of Pakistan is exporting salt to world but management can’t work on
this profitable project.

 Copper Mine:
The world's fifth largest reserves of copper in Baluchistan, Pakistan but production of copper Pakistan
have 30th rank.
  Water:
Pakistan have rivers, lakes but we lost all water in the shape of flood. This year
Pakistan lost water amount is more than GDP of Pakistan.

According to Ministry of National Food Security and Research Federal Secretary Ahmed Buksh:

"About two thirds of our water resources are lost in transmission and seepage,"

This is all due to poor infrastructure of water irrigation system. If Pakistan utilized this water in good
way, all farmers will get water at low cost.

 Forestry:
4% of Pakistan’s land have forest. These forest are main source of food, lumber, paper, fuel
wood, latex, and medicine. Due to bad management of forest department, illegally lot of people cut
these important trees on daily basics.

 Cotton:
Pakistan is the 4th largest cotton producer, third largest cotton consumer, second largest importer
and has fourth largest cotton cultivated area in the world. Pakistan’s yield per hectare is around 650 kgs,
lagging behind dozens of countries.

If the management of Pakistan will work in good and responsive way. People of Pakistan will got lot of
big opportunities of earning livelihood. Due to inflation the living standard of Pakistani peoples is going
down day by dayNow we know Pakistan is rich country, because Pakistan have god biggest gift which is
not for all countries & nations
 Cause of poverty

People of Pakistan are poor due to lot of factors. Some of these factors are given below

 Lack of education:
The literacy rate of Pakistan is very low.
Most of people do not have any concept about the modern earning sources. Government schools &
college’s condition are very pitiable. Teachers can’t attend their jobs. Schools are closed from a long
time but staff is still getting their salaries. This is all due to failure of management.

 Division of Agricultural land:

All politicians have huge amount of agricultural land due to corruption. They never try to research
on new species of vegetables & fruits because they have huge number of land. They already earning
huge amount of profit but due to new ways they can earn more.

Poor farmer can’t compete with these black sheep’s of country. So that’s why Agriculture of
Pakistan is well. Pakistan can earn much more than current values.

 Lack of Foreign Investment:

Situation of Pakistan is not very good
because investor always prefer stable political & economic conditions but condition of Pakistan is very
different. So this thing is also another big cause of poverty.
  Inflation:
Inflation rate in Pakistan is very high, management is interest in other factors
expect this major problem. Current inflation rate in Pakistan is 7.39(09/2013). Inflation decreases the
savings and investments of poor people and they remain poor.

 Imposition of Taxes
People of Pakistan are too responsible for
this bad condition of country. According to NADRA ‘Over 2m Non-taxpayers in Pakistan’. People don’t
want to pay tax because they think management can’t give good facilities due to this they can’t pay
direct tax. This thing make the condition worse.

 Population:
Population of Pakistan is increasing very rapidly. People and
management don’t want to control this problem, countries like China & India are working very seriously
on this matter.

 Corruption
Poverty is also due to dishonesty and corruption in management. Officers
receive a huge amount of illegal money for the legal and illegal job. These unnecessary payments reduce
the savings of poor and result is poverty.
  Law and Order:
Law and order conditions are at their poor stages. A huge
portion of saving of population is wasted in costly and lengthy legal process Chief Justices of Pakistan is
working very hard but their lot of big holes in judicial system of Pakistan.

 Nepotism:
Nepotism means the murder of talent and abilities. It refers to the
employment opportunities according to relation not according to the worth. If population is poor but is
talented it remains poor due to nepotism.

Increase in Utility Charges:

Utility charges like water, gas, electricity &
etc. are increasing day by day in Pakistan. More utility charges lead to reduction in the saving of
population and its result is poverty.

 Improper Income Distribution:

Imbalanced distribution of resources is an additional cause of poverty in Pakistan. This situation leads to
increase the gap between rich and poor. Due to undesirable distribution of income and wealth, poor
population is unable to take part in economic activities to remove poverty.
 According to World Banks (2013) “60 percent population living below poverty line”. The
international poverty line is two dollars a day or an income of PRs 200 per day. The report shows that 21
percent of Pakistan’s population lives below $1.25 per day.

The biggest issue is the underutilization of the massive resources available in this land, where our
federal budgets has been silent for years. This issue is directly related to poverty reduction as well as
developing confidence in the people of Pakistan and about their future.
