I. INTRODUCTION
In recent years, the fashion industry has witnessed a
transformative shift towards eco-friendly and sustainable
practices. This shift has prompted the exploration of alternative
materials and processes that minimize environmental impact without
compromising style and quality. One such innovation is the
development of organic shoe polish made from banana peels and
coconut oil. This unconventional yet effective solution not only
offers a natural alternative to traditional shoe polish but also
addresses the issue of food waste by repurposing discarded banana
peels. Organic shoe polish is a natural and renewable alternative
to commercial products. It’s free from harmful synthetic chemicals
and petroleum-based ingredients, making it safer for the
environment and human health. By choosing organic shoe polish,
individuals can contribute to environmental conservation and
protect their personal well-being. This emphasizes the
significance of opting for organic shoe polish as a responsible
and eco-friendly approach to footwear care. As consumers seek
products that align with their values, the demand for viable and
organic options continues to rise. By delving deep into the
potential of organic shoe polish, the intersection of fashion,
sustainability, and innovation will be uncovered, as well as how
this simple yet remarkable product has the power to make a
significant difference in the way we care for and perceive our
footwear will be explored.
2
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The emergence of environmentally friendly and sustainable
products has been a growing concern in recent years. Acknowledged
for its versatility, accessibility, and affordability, shoe polish
has become a key player in sustainable product discussions. One
such alternative approach to traditional shoe polish is the use of
organic shoe polish made from banana peels and coconut oil. Several
studies have been conducted to explore the potential of banana
peels and coconut oil as natural sources of polymers for various
applications. For instance, Yoo et al. (2015) reported that the
solubilizing of coconut shell-derived copolymers by water or
aqueous solution significantly enhanced their solubility and
dispersion in various organic solvents, making them suitable for
applications such as inks, coatings, and adhesives. Additionally,
Singh et al. (2018) demonstrated that banana peel-derived cellulose
acetate nanofibers could be utilized as an effective additive for
polyethylene, thereby improving the mechanical properties and
durability of the composite material. The study suggests that
banana peels and coconut oil can be utilized as sustainable and
eco-friendly polymers in various industries, including shoe polish
production.
However, the study on the composition and processing
conditions for producing organic shoe polish from banana peels and
coconut oil have not been thoroughly investigated. Thereby,
necessitating further research.

A.OPERATION MANAGEMENT
It is the process that generally plans, controls and
supervises manufacturing and production processes and service
delivery.
It means planning, organizing, and supervising operations,
manufacturing and production processes, and delivering services
throughout a product’s life cycle. Managing the entire production
cycle should make sure the creation of high-quality products or
services to meet customer needs. In short, Operations management
is an important branch of management which ensures business success
and profitability.
Assurance of the Quality
A systematic process of determining whether a product or
service meets specified requirements.
1.Product testing and Process inspection- testing protocols
are highly implement, to assure the quality. Before externalization
to the market the product must need to meet the requirement that
set to maintain the quality of product. Checking each process to
secure the consistency of the product.
2. Quality Control Check- having a quality supplier of coconut
oil and the right ripeness of banana peels have a big contribution
to maintain the quality. Making sure that the cleaning and sorting
process each batch is applied to removed impurities and
contamination. In addition, maintaining the blended consistency of
product and heating process can affect quality of the product.
3. Material quality assurance- any type of banana peels can
do, the ripeness of banana peels are the one that matter. The oil
and beeswax, which is one of the based required to have a quality
check before using as a materials. Having a right supplier is a
big help to assure the quality.
5
Supply Chain
It is the interconnected journey that raw materials,
components, and goods take before their assembly and sale to
customers.
↓Supplier of banana peels-having a loyal supplier for the
consistency and assurance of the raw materials.
↓Supplier of whole production- making sure to have a good
foundation of each materials.
↓Testing the quality of raw materials- checking each
production materials, tools, and equipment for assurance and
safety.
↓Making the product- follow the standard production process.
↓Finish product testing- ensuring that each product meet the
quality standard.
↓Final product- after each process, time to finalized the
product and put the label.
↓Market distribution- sell it directly to end customer or
have a supplier.
Process design
It is the process of creating and improving systems that
convert inputs into outputs.
Main Materials:
Banana peels
Cooking oil
Beeswax
Other Materials:
Newspaper (optional)
Container
Packaging materials (including round tin can, sticker, etc.)
Tools:
Stirring rod
Knife
Equipment:
Blender b
PPE ( including gloves, apron, hairnet)
6
Production Process:
1. Banana peel supply, collecting the over ripe banana peel
by supplier.
2. If the banana peels are note over ripe enough, cover it
into the newspaper and rest for 2 days.
3. Cut the banana peels into small pieces, for easier
blending.
4. Put the banana peels in the blender until crushed.
5. Heating up the peels mixture with the right amount of oil.
6. To check the consistency, use a stirring rod.
7. Add beeswax to the mixture, allow it to cool down.
9. Rest the mixture for 24 hours.
10. Observing and checking the quality and consistency, tried
and tested.
11. After the successful inspection time to packed using
cylinder tin can.
12. Labelling the relevant information, including:
instruction, materials, date of manufacture, etc.
13. To store the packed product, stored it in a room
temperature.
14. After the long preparation, the product is ready to the
market.
15. Continuously improving the process for efficiency and
quality.
Operation management is important, it's helps effective
manage, control, and supervise good, services, and people. The
utilization of banana peels in the production process introduce a
sustainable element to operation management. From the careful
sourcing of supplier of banana peels to their transformation into
eco-friendly shoe polish. By optimizing supply chain, assurance of
the quality, and process design, a business can not only meet
industry standards but also can exceed expectation.

of these flyers is compelling, providing a snapshot of the
product's unique features and benefits.
Additionally, the flyers can be posted on Instagram, Facebook,
and Twitter for publicity, allowing potential customers outside
the local area to discover the product and potentially become loyal
customers.
Lastly, entrepreneurs can advertise using a short commercial
video to appeal to the audience.
