Required Software
• Campaign Cartographer 3+ from ProFantasy Ltd. with Update 8 (Version 3.74) or higher.

• The CSUAC 2 free add-on for CC3+. The Dundjinni Archives Vol. 3 is an extension of the Modern/SciFi element of
the CSUAC 2.0. Without the CSUAC 2 this extension will not function properly.

• An operating system that supports CC3+.

This package is not compatible with Campaign Cartographer 3. It works only with Campaign Cartographer 3+.

It is not necessary to install Bogie's Mapping Objects or the Vintyri Cartographic Collection to use his product.

The Dundjinni Archives … a CSUAC extension

The archiving of symbols and fill styles made by Dundjinni users began in 2004, with the first version of the CSUAC (Cecil
Solomon's User Art Collection). Originally, this collection was restricted for use only with the Dundjinni mapping program, but
with time, CC3 and Fractal Mapper 8 versions also were authorized, with the stipulation that they be distributed exclusively
through Cecil Solomon's Gamemaster's Apprentice website. Distribution elsewhere was authorized only after the
Gamemaster's Apprentice site left the Internet in 2008.

With the keeper of the CSUAC no longer active, Dundjinni forum members Kepli, Sendorian and Daniel Pryor began main-
taining a new archive of user-created symbols and fill styles in 2008, and it continues to be maintained through the present.
In the summer of 2016, the Vintyri Project gained authorization to create and distribute new FM8 and CC3+ versions of the
archives. One can view the Dundjinni Archives as the further extension of the CSUAC, and the two combined, as a whole,
being a collection of the user-created art on the Dundjinni forums for the 12-year period from 2004 to 2016.

That leads to the reason why the CSUAC 2 is necessary to use Volumes 2 and 3 of the Dundjinni Archives. Unlike other
freeware releases of the Vintyri Project for CC3+, these volumes are not independent add-ons. Instead, they integrate a
huge amount of new mapping symbols and fill styles into the CSUAC 2 installation. The Dundjinni Archives contain all of the
user-created objects available from the Dundjinni forums except:

• Those objects for which the creators have set limited usage restrictions.

• Objects by Bogie that already are included in the Bogie's Mapping Objects add-on for CC3+. These objects have been
eliminated to avoid unnecessary duplication.

This is the Volume 3 of three releases:

• Volume 1: Contains ISO symbols for CC3+ with which to make overland maps. This is the first and only Dundjinni
collection that is geared to overland maps.

• Volume 2: Contains more than 2 GB of fantasy symbols and fill styles.

• Volume 3 (this release): Contains almost 300 MB of modern and science fiction fill styles and symbols.

This first volume can be used independently of other CC3+ add-ons that have been released by the Vintyri Project. Volumes
2 and 3 require the CSUAC 2 to work properly, but they can be installed or ignored as wished. Volumes 1, 2 and 3 are not
dependent upon one another.

Avoid Problems Before You Install!

Please do not skip this step! (See the screen shot on the next page.) If you have them, make copies of the follow-
ing files, which you'll find in (Data folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus, and keep the copies in a non-CC3+ folder:
-3-

• city.mnu – This file contains the toolbar for CD3. If you do not have CD3, you may not have this file.

• dungeon.mnu – This file contains the toolbar for DD3. If you do not have DD3, you may not have this file.

• fcw32.imn – You do not necessarily have this file. If you do, it contains the toolbar for an earlier version of the CSUAC
and/or other custom toolbar elements not made by ProFantasy.

• fcw32.mnu – All systems have this file. It defines the CC3+ overland toolbar that is available in all CC3+ installations.

• ss3.mnu - You do not necessarily have this file. If you do, it contains the toolbar for the Symbol Set 3 (Modern) made
by ProFantasy.

• ss4.mnu - You do not necessarily have this file either. If you do, it contains the toolbar for the Symbol Set 4 (Dun-
geons of Schley) made by ProFantasy.

Erasing the Competition

If you did find the file fcw32.imn, please erase it in your CC3+ data folder after backing it up. If this file is pre-
sent, it is for an earlier CSUAC edition or it was made by some other third party. This file can under certain circum-
stances conflict with the Vintyri toolbar system and may cause CC3+ to crash.

Recovering after a Bad Installation

If you have problems with CC3+ after this installation that you cannot resolve and you want to return to the pre-installation
status, simply copy the files that you secured (above) back into (Data folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus and confirm that you want
to overwrite the new files. Restart CC3+ and you'll return to where you were before.
-4-

Knowing Where Your Data Folders Are

During the installation of the Dundjinni Archives, Vol. 3, you will have to direct the Setup program to the location of
your CC3+ data folders. CC3+ installs into two separate locations, one for the program files and one for the data
files. The program files usually are in C:\Program Files (x86). This is the wrong location for this installation!

You need to install in the data folders file. If you installed in the CC3+ default location, your installation goal is:

C:\ProgramData\ProFantasy\CC3Plus

However, ProFantasy gives users the option of installing the CC3+ data into a folder of their choice. If you used that option,
you need to tell setup what that location is. If you have forgotten where you installed the CC3+ data files, do the following:

• 1. Open the Windows File Explorer, in some lingual versions simply called the Explorer.

• 2. Open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus.

• 3. Locate the file named @.ini.

• 4. With the left mouse key, make a double click on the symbol to the left of the file name @.ini.

• 5. That will open the Windows Notepad and it will show you the location where you installed the CC3+ data folders.
This is where you need to install the Dundjinni Archives. See the lower screen shot on the previous page.

Installation
Mac and LINUX users need to use the system described on Page 17. To install the Dundjinni Archives Vol. 3 on a Windows
computer, download the following file and unzip it into a desired location:

http://www.vintyri.org/downloads/dj_vol3_setup.zip.

After unzipping, you will find a new file named dj_vol3_setup.exe. Run this file only after securing your .mnu and .imn files,
as explained farther above.

To install this product:

• Close CC3+ if it is open.

• It also is recommended that you temporarily turn off your anti-virus software.

• Open the File Explorer of Windows to the folder that contains the setup file named dj_vol3_setup.exe.

• Using the screen shot on the following page as a guideline, take these steps in the File Explorer:

 1. Click the symbol for the file dj_vol3_setup.exe with the left mouse key to mark it and then with the right
mouse key to open the context menu.

 2. Pick the menu option Run as Administrator (see the top screen shot on the following page).

NOTE: Under certain circumstances, modern Windows versions will refuse to run this installation if it is done without
administrator privileges active. It is better to take these steps and to avoid such problems.

• After the installation program begins running, simply click the command button Next > on the first page of the Setup
routine.

• On the second page:

 1. Scroll through End User License Agreement. This is a legally binding agreement. It is to your advantage to
read it before you accept it.
-5-
-6-

 2. Click the check box I accept the agreement.

 3. Click the command button Next > .

• Use the top screen shot above as a guideline:

 1. You need to enter the path to your CC3+ data folder installation in the text field named Destination folder. If
the default value C:\ProgramData\ProFantasy\CC3Plus is not the correct path, erase it.

 2. Then click the command button Browse .

 3. Select the folder that holds your CC3+ data installation. This is the folder that you chose for the data and
learned to find on Page 4. The example shown above – F:\Programme\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\ - is only an exam-
ple. You need the folder that contains your CC3+ data files.

 4. Click the command button Next >

-7-

• Among other things, the next page sets up an Uninstall-routine, in case you want to remove the art pack at some future
time. We recommend that you:

 1. Click the check box named Create shortcuts in Start Menu

 2. Click the command button Next > .

• The next page (above) lets you review the settings that you've made. Once you've done that, click the command but-
ton Install .

• The setup program now shows you the status of the running installation. You need do nothing.

• The final page of the setup program (following page) reports that the installation is finished. If you:

 1. Click the check box named Launch Dundjinni Archives Vol. 3 (Modern) …

 2. … and click the command button Finish …

-8-

… CC3+ will open a DOS-type window briefly and then automatically open CC3+ to let you check if your installation was suc-
cessful. Do not close this DOS window!

Because Volume 3 of the Dundjinni Archives is an extension of the CSUAC 2.0 rather than an independent add-on, it is
steered over the various toolbars in CC3+, CD3, DD3, SS3 and SS4. The following screen shots how you how to gain ac-
cess to the new symbols in the modern and science fiction collection.

The Vintyri Toolbar

The Vintyri toolbar is a third, common toolbar shared by the following add-ons that are distributed free by the Vintyri Project:

• Bogie's Mapping Objects

• The CSUAC 2

• The Dundjinni Archives

• the Vintyri Cartographic Collection

The Vintyri toolbar integrates into the following ProFantasy products:

• Campaign Cartographer 3+, when operating in its native overland mode

• Dungeon Designer 3

• City Designer 3

• Symbol Set 3 (Modern)

• Symbol Set 4 (Dungeons of Schley)

The Vintyri toolbar has a different appearance with each of these products. It shows only those buttons with graphical icons
that are appropriate for the mode and add-on that is activated at the time.
-9-

The Vintyri Toolbar for CC3+ in Overland Mode:

This selection includes all the symbols from all four releases, even though many hardly are useful in overland mapping. The
reason for this is that many cartographers use CC3+ without Dungeon Designer 3 or City Designer 3. This, then, is the only
mode they have. A full-access toolbar gives such map makers access to all of the tools that they need to make whatever
kinds of maps they wish.

The Vintyri Toolbar for CC3+ in City Designer 3 mode:

This toolbar gives access to those elements in the four collections that are useful in making cities, villages, settlements, etc.

The Vintyri Toolbar for CC3+ in Dungeon Designer 3 and SS4 Mode:
This toolbar gives access to those elements in the Bogie, CSUAC and Dundjinni collections that are useful in making making
battlemaps, dungeon areas and scenarios in settlements.

The Vintyri Toolbar for CC3+ in SS3 Modern Mode:

This toolbar gives access to those elements in the Bogie, CSUAC and Dundjinni collections that are useful in combination
with the modern era symbols included in ProFantasy's Symbol Set 3 (Modern). Please note that this group goes well beyond
the bounds of modern mapping and also includes a large number of science fiction symbols and fill styles.
-10-

Making Maps with the CSUAC and Dundjinni Archives

Making Overland Maps
This topic is addressed in the guide for Volume 2. There are no overland templates for modern and science fiction cartog-
raphy in Volume 3.

Making Air Space and Outer Space Maps in Overland Mode

Volume 3 of the Dundjinni Archives does offer a CC3+ overland template for making large scale modern aircraft maps in the
open night sky or outer space maps.

Using the screen shot above as a guideline:

• 1. Click the menu option File.

• 2. Click the menu option New.

• 3. Pick the map type Overland Maps.

• 4. Choose the option Decide settings myself.

• 5. Click the command button Next > .

• 6. Pick the map style named CC3 DA Outer Space.

• 7. Click the command button Next > .

From that point on continue on as you would with any other new map. Once your starting map is on the screen, you can
begin filling it with outer-space symbols from the CSUAC/DA Modern and SciFi catalogs. However, keep in mind that this
template has only two space- or night-sky-oriented fill styles, Starfield 01 and Starfield 02. See the screen shots on the fol-
lowing page.
-11-

Making Modern and Science Fiction Maps in Dungeon Mode

This category includes battlemaps, dungeon areas, settlement scenarios, etc.
-12-

Using the screen shot above as a guideline:

• 1. Click the menu option File.

• 2. Click the menu option New.

• 3. Pick the map type Dungeons.

• 4. Choose the option Decide settings myself.

• 5. Click the command button Next > .

• 6. Pick the map style named DD3 DA Modern Dungeon.

• 7. Click the command button Next > .

From that point on continue on as you would with any other new map. Once your starting map is on the screen, you can
begin filling it with outer-space symbols from the CSUAC/DA Modern and SciFi catalogs.

Making Modern Scenario Maps in Dungeon Mode

Occasionally, you may want to make a battlemap in a typical outdoor or city setting. In that case, you need a different tem-
plate. You can do that using the lower screen shot on the following page as a guideline:

• 1. Click the menu option File.

• 2. Click the menu option New.

• 3. Pick the map type Dungeons.

• 4. Choose the option Decide settings myself.

• 5. Click the command button Next > .

-13-

• 6. Pick the map style named DD3 DA_Outdoor.

• 7. Click the command button Next > .

With this template and the Dundjinni Archives modern symbols, you can make city scenarios and battlemaps with CC3+. See
the quick example screens shot on the following page. Note that the upper left symbols in the CSUAC/Dundjinni roads cata-
log are difficult to see in the selection bar, but they do have content, marking bike lanes, bus stops, etc.
-14-

Making Enhanced Modern Maps in Symbol Set 3 Mode

As far as modern style cartography (as opposed to science fiction) is concerned, one can gain the best results in CC3+ by
combining ProFantasy's Symbol Set 3 (Modern) with the Dundjinni Archives, Volume 3. This is done easiest with a template
that integrates the Dundjinni volume into SS3, however, this option is useable only if you have installed SS3.
-15-

Using the lower screen shot on the previous page as a guideline:

• 1. Click the menu option File.

• 2. Click the menu option New.

• 3. Pick the map type Floor Plans.

• 4. Choose the option Decide settings myself.

• 5. Click the command button Next > .

• 6. Pick the map style named SS3 Modern Bitmap B CSUAC_DA.

• 7. Click the command button Next > .

From that point on continue on as you would with any other new map. Once your starting map is on the screen, you can
began filling it with outer-space symbols from the CSUAC/DA Modern and SciFi catalogs and the suitable fill patterns from
Bogie's Mapping Objects, the CSUAC 2 and the Dundjinni Archives Volume 3 also are available.

Maintaining and Fixing Toolbars

CC3+ has a single custom toolbar. The Dundjinni Archives and the Bogie's Mapping Objects, CSUAC 2 and Vintyri Carto-
graphic Collection add-ons make extensive use of that one custom toolbar. However, other third party creators of add-ons for
CC3+ also can program this toolbar to serve their applications.

This can lead to serious conflicts. The programming decisions of another third party vendor well might overwrite and there-
fore destroy the Vintyri toolbar system that is installed with this product. There also may be other things at times that lead to
both your Vintyri and CC3+ toolbars being damaged or disappearing.
-16-

In your CC3+ data folder – (Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\) – is a file named VPToolbarFix.bat. If you open the
CC3Plus folder with your Windows File Explorer and make a double click with the left mouse key on this symbol's file, it
should correct those problems in most cases.

However, various actions can cause the Vintyri toolbar to be overwritten with an older version, which, in turn, will make the
Vintyri toolbar icons disappear. In most cases, running the file VPToolbarFix.bat will restore your toolbar.

However, there are a few cases where this solution will not work. If, for instance, you downloaded Bogie's Mapping Objects.
the CSUAC 2.0, the Dundjinni Archives Vol. 1 or the Vintyri Cartographic Collection before August 30, 2016, and you install
any or all of these downloads after you install the Dundjinni Archives Vol. 3, the toolbar configuration file will be overwritten
by an obsolete version.

To make it possible to deal with this problem, we've included a backup version of the correct configuration file at this location:

(Data Folders)\Profantasy\CC3Plus\Recovery

To restore the correct toolbars, take these steps, using the screen shot on the following page as a guideline:

• Close CC3+, if it is open.

• Open the Windows (File) Explorer.

• Open the folder (Data Folders)\Profantasy\CC3Plus\Recovery.

• Copy the file vpsettings.cfg into the folder (Data Folders)\Profantasy\CC3Plus.

• Copy the file vpsettings.cfg once more, this time into the folder (Data Folders)\Profantasy\CC3Plus\System.

• After the copy operation, run VPToolbarFix.bat.

• Reopen CC3+. The correct toolbar icons should appear again.

However, if you have installed a third party add-on that causes a toolbar conflict, we suggest that you contact us at:

info@vintyri.org

For help in combining the conflicting toolbars into a working model.

-17-

Mac and LINUX Users

An essential element in Windows installations is a CC3+ utility file named CC3MenuConfig.exe. Unfortunately, this utility
does not run under the various Windows emulations for Apple® Macs or LINUX systems. This also will keep the toolbar re-
pair methods described beginning on Page 15 from working on a Mac or LINUX system.

To install the Dundjinni Archives Vol. 3 on a Windows computer, download the following file:

http://www.vintyri.org/downloads/dj_vol3_lm.zip.

To install this product:

• Close CC3+ if it is open.

• Unzip the file named dj_vol3_lm.zip into (Data Folders)\Profantasy\CC3Plus.
