Summer Project Description

InDev (InDev Solutions LLP founded and led by its CEO, Mr. Aimthy Thoumoung
https://www.linkedin.com/in/aimthy-t-4907a6/) is a consulting firm focused on
implementation of social sector and development sector projects. InDev is urgently looking
for college students who are interested in doing a summer project in certain villages of
Assam during the months of June and July 2024.

The summer project involves carrying out a survey of and collecting survey data regarding
bamboo farmers in the villages of the following project areas: Morigaon district (Nellie
area), Golaghat district (Khumtai, Marangi, Bokakhat and Dergaon areas), Sibsagar district
(Gelekey area), Nagaon district (Kaliabor area), and Sonitpur district (Balipara area). The
survey data will be used by InDev to enable appropriate livelihood opportunities for the
bamboo farmers.

The students selected for the summer project will be provided appropriate training to carry
out the survey work. The selected students will be reimbursed by InDev all expenses for
food and travel / fuel, and will also receive a small nominal stipend for their time and effort.
The students who perform satisfactorily during the summer project will receive a certificate
from InDev regarding their project work, and this certificate may be used by them for future
jobs / recruitment. They may also receive references from InDev for future jobs /
recruitment.

The students should have the following candidate characteristics:

• Currently studying in college or recently graduated from college,
• Have their (or parent’s / family member’s) temporary or permanent residence in one of
the previously mentioned project areas,
• Be fluent in Assamese,
• Be able to understand English and read and write English comfortably,
• Have a regular smartphone for carrying out the survey,
• Be able to ride a 2-wheeler, and
• Have access to a 2-wheeler they can use for the project work.
