 AO3.1. Demonstrate knowledge of how to safely use …………………………………………………………….
apparatus.
…………………………………………………………….
 AO3.2. Plan experiments …………………………………………………………….
 AO3.3. Make and record observations,
measurements.

Materials Required: Thermistor, Power supply, 100  resistor, Water at 100 0C, Voltmeter, Ammeter,
Thermometer, Connecting wires, switch, LED, 200 ml beaker.

 Procedure:
1. Carefully connect circuit as shown in the following Fig.
2. Pour hot water into the beaker and also the thermistor and thermometer.
3. Record the initial temperature of water.
4. And also record the potential difference across the thermistor and the current through it.
5. Record the potential difference, current and temperature of the water, after ever fall in temperature of
water by 5 0C or 10 0C
6. For each set of reading, calculate the resistance of the LRD using Ohms Law (R = V/I).
7. Plot graph of temperature Vs. resistance.
