Republic of the Philippines . PROVINCE OF QUIRINO Cabarroguis ~000~ 1 Quirino sacone puipmas OFFICE OF THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNOR April 29, 2023, MS. MADELYN L. MACALLING, Ph.D., CESO V Schools Division Superintendent Department of Education Cabarroguis, Quirino Dear DR. MACALLING: By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 439, s. of 2003, the National Heritage Month (NHM) is annually celebrated during the month of May. This year, the celebration will banner the theme “Championing Heritage: Capacity Building to Transform Communities” which emphasizes the much needed support for our cultural workers and advocates within the local communities and Indigenous Peoples (IP) themselves by boosting their knowledge and skills, ‘on heritage management and preservation. The celebration aims to honor the province's rich cultural heritage by supporting capacity building and Salin-Sining activity through a MUSIC and DANCE WORKSHOP for identified IPs in the province. As the province also boasts of its very rich natural heritage resources, we will also bring in the limelight these various heritage sites through a tour with the cultural mappers coming from the DepEd-Quirino, Provincial and Municipal Tourism Offices, and will be covered by PIA-Quirino. In this regard, may we request your Focal Persons on Culture per Municipality, specifically those who were trained on Cultural Mapping in 2019, to please join us for a planning meeting at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Pagdadapunan Pavilion, Capitol Compound, Cabarroguis, Quirino. Their invaluable inputs and insights will be of great help to ensure the success of our celebration of National Heritage Month 2024.
