PART 3: AFTER YOUR INTERVIEW, COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

1. Reflect on the positives of the interview. [3 marks]

The legal realm is both exciting and daunting at the same time. Reality speaking,
only one amongst the applicants would be chosen during interviews. One must
stand out to be picked.

After the interview in class, I realized about three things, such as: (i) importance
of being confident and true to oneself, (ii) communicate clearly and concisely,
and, (iii) stay calm under times of immense pressure.

During interview, the applicant must be confident from the moment he or she
steps into the room. Posture plays an important role in determining the
confidence of a person. Likewise, the gestures and actions of the interviewee will
be noticed by the interviewer and shall be considered as non-verbal
communication. Thus, the interviewee must not only be confident with the
things he or she says but also in the way he or she carries and delivers himself or
herself.

Furthermore, it is important to know how to communicate clearly and concisely.

As an interviewee, we have only limited time to introduce our self and be known
to the interviewer. The interviewee must make the most of the time given to him
or her.

Lastly, the interviewee must always stay calm during interviews. The interviewee
can do small hand gestures and body movements but not to the extent that it
could affect the interview session.

2. What would you have done better or differently as the person being
interviewed? [1 mark]

I would have asked more to the interviewer with regard to the culture of the
firm. Knowing the culture of the office is a big factor in determining whether one
will fit or not. It can likewise establish the camaraderie and work environment in
the Paralegal firm.

3. What question was difficult to answer and why? [2 marks]

2
I find it challenging to answer the first question, which is “Tell me about
yourself.” In this question, I must summarize the experience and educational
background I had in less than a minute. Good thing that during the elevator pitch
activity, we were already given the opportunity to introduce ourselves in a short
period of time.

4. What type of interview was it, do you think it was the best method, and why? [2
marks]
The type of interview is Traditional Interview. I believe that the Traditional
Interview is the best method because the interviewer can have a glimpse of how
the applicant will fit in the team. This method likewise allows the applicant to
know more about the company he or she is applying to through the questions he
or she may ask to the interviewer.
