REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Convenience and Accessibility

Online shopping offers unparalleled convenience and accessibility for

consumers. Shoppers can browse and purchase products anytime, anywhere,

without the constraints of physical store hours or geographical limitations. This

convenience factor has transformed the way people shop and has led to a shift

towards online platforms. (Chaffey, D., & Ellis-Chadwick, F. (2019). Digital

marketing. Pearson UK.)

Increased Product Variety and Selection

Online shopping has expanded the range of products available to

consumers. With a vast number of online retailers, shoppers can access a wide

variety of goods, including niche or specialized items that may not be available

in local stores. This has empowered consumers with more choices and the ability

to find unique or hard-to-find products. (IBISWorld. (2021). E-Commerce & Online

Auctions in the US - Industry Market Research Report.)

Price Comparison and Savings

Online shopping facilitates easy comparison of prices and deals across

different retailers. Consumers can quickly search and compare prices to find the

best possible deals, leading to potential cost savings. Additionally, online

retailers often offer exclusive discounts, promotions, and loyalty programs,

further enhancing the savings for shoppers. (Mintel. (2020). US Online Shopping -

US - August 2020.)

Impact on Brick-and-Mortar Retail

The rise of online shopping has had a profound impact on traditional

brick-and-mortar retail. Physical retailers have faced increasing competition

from online stores, leading to store closures, bankruptcies, and a shift in

consumer preferences. Many traditional retailers have had to adapt by

incorporating online sales channels or enhancing the in-store experience to stay

competitive. (Hübner, A., & Holweg, C. (2019). The disruption of retailing: The

clash of the e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retailing business models.

Business Horizons, 62(6), 703-717.)

Logistics and Supply Chain Transformation

Online shopping has necessitated significant changes in logistics and

supply chain management. Retailers have had to establish efficient order

fulfillment processes, optimize inventory management, and implement robust

last-mile delivery systems to meet the expectations of online shoppers. This

transformation has had implications for warehousing, transportation, and

delivery services. (Stemberg, R. (2021). The Impact of Online Shopping on Supply

Chain Operations. International Journal of Business and Management, 16(2), 17-

23.)

This section provides emphasis on the research design used for this study

as the means of Descriptive method. It also gives further descriptions of the

method used to gather and analyze the data procured from the participants.

Furthermore, this chapter of the study further discusses the approach applied by

the researcher to determine the effects of online shopping to the students of

surveyed online for the study. They must be assured of their right to

confidentiality and anonymity.

LOCALE OF THE STUDY

The study was conducted at Northwest Hill Side School Incorporated, Apo

survey questionnaire to collect data. This approach is concerned with the study

of experience from the viewpoint of an individual (Lester, 2014). This

quantitative research approach draws on the commonality of the lived

experiences of a particular group. Quantitative research methods are

concerned with collecting and analyzing data that is structured and can be

represented numerically. One of the central goals is to build accurate and

reliable measurements that allow for statistical analysis. Goertzen, M. J. (2017).

This is to determine the effects of online shopping to the students of Northwest

Hill Side School Incorporated. And seek out significant influence of the learning

modalities to the participants.

not affected as every member has an equal chance of being selected in the

sample Bhardwaj, Pooja (2019). In this study, the chosen participants who will

serve as the primary source of data will be purposively chosen under specific

considerations. Firstly, the participants must be bona fide of senior and junior

high school of Northwest Hill Side School Incorporated and lastly, the

participants must be face to face learning.
