High Performance Stability Control (HPSC)
As part of an extensive safety system, the new “HPSC” stability control system is yet another innovative response to requests made by
users of PALFINGER truck-mounted cranes.
Sensors for proportional path measurement located in the stabilizers make their positioning fully variable. As a result, it is possible to
calculate the permissible safe working range for any for any stabilizer situation.
The HPSC system calculates the permissible working range for any slewing angle of the boom system and for any stabilizer situation.
The algorithm developed by PALFINGER is a complex calculation process which enables a very accurate approximation to the vehicle’s
actual stability based on the crane and vehicle’s real data. Stability is recalculated in real time for every crane position.
The operator can read off the current status at any time on the clearly laid out display on the operator’s console or on the display of the
radio remote control.
The entire sensor system is mounted inside the unit to conform with PALFINGER’s functional design language and is therefore protected
against damage, dirt and the elements. The result is an efficient overall system.

of five brand-new fly jibs for truck loading cranes:
The new fly jibs from PALFINGER upgrade the entire performance
capability of the crane and open up completely new applications.
They impress by virtue of their unique manoeuvrability, their
outreach, great maximum load and their low dead weight.
Owing to their excellent movement geometry – the new fly jibs

can all be angled upwards by 25 degrees – work can even be
performed without difficulty at exposed and difficult-to-reach
places.

Maximum efficiency for heavy-duty cranes

– The solution for two kinds of jobs
PALFINGER heavy-duty cranes starting at 40 meter-tons come availa-

ble with DPS Plus. That means the fly jib can be operated with two
pressure ranges through the use of a special, electronic overload
protection system.
If the last extension boom of the crane is fully extended, the lifting
capacity of the crane will be reduced to prevent overload. If the last
extension boom of the crane is retracted (DPS Plus activated), the
system automatically switches to the high pressure range and the-
reby makes use of the maximal lifting capacity of the fly jib.
PALFINGER’s second generation DPS also enables an additional in-
crease in lifting capacity of up to 15 % in the extended position.
Hidden behind such technical advancements is a clever combination
of modern PALFINGER crane and control technology.

The Top-Seat
The newly designed top-seat is available in 2 control versions:

2-lever pilot control or linear lever control and offers the highest level of operating comfort.
A combination of the ergonomic equipment with perfect sight of the load transforms the top-seat into a comfortable, safe, and
superior working position. The control valve is mounted under the seat pan; as a result, through the unrestricted frontal view the load
can be optimally seen at any time. An additional protection bar in the entrance section ensures greatest-possible safety because when
the bar is opened the Emergency-Off valve is activated and therefore all crane functions are deactivated.

Elaborate process for long-lasting surface protection
The right surface treatment is the basis for durable, long-lasting surface protection. The components pass through the process stages of

Radio Remote Control

PALFINGER High Performance cranes are operator-friendly and easy to control. The tried-
and-tested radio remote controller with LED display is available throughout the entire range.
In the SH models, the state-of-the-art radio remote control provides the operator via the
LCD graphic display with precise information about a variety of operating conditions such as
capacity usage, active systems, servicing intervals or movements currently accessible. It is even
possible to provide an accurate visual display of the position of the stabilizer supports. It is
easy to navigate through the menus and to switch to the actual functions desired by using
four softkey functions and four menu buttons.
The operator is guided clearly and safely in peripheral limit areas. The indicator on the display
directs the operator, helping him to keep a cool head in any situation and to make the right
decision.

How it works
LEDs in the hand lever guard light up the entire control panel. That makes it easier to read
the machine functions and also provides the crane operator with a quick overview of the
entire panel while working. The operating symbols integrated in the hand lever guard are
backlit at the same time.
AOS-System
The Active Oscillation Suppression system exclusively available from PALFINGER compensates
for the shocks and high stress cycles that occur in normal crane operation. As the crane's
vibrations are suppressed, work can proceed with pinpoint accuracy and therefore more
cost-efficiently.

Single Link Plus

The knuckle joint on the crane's knuckle boom improves the crane's lifting power signifi-
cantly in typical working positions. This knuckle boom, which has been specially developed
by PALFINGER and can be angled upwards, also stands out by virtue of excellent movement
geometry. Difficult crane jobs can be performed with precision even in the tightest spaces.
Power Link Plus

The knuckle boom which can be angled upwards was specially developed by PALFINGER and
this design stands out by virtue of excellent movement geometry. Even in the tightest of
spaces, heavy crane work can be performed.
Return Oil Utilisation

Return oil utilisation incorporated as standard in the extension system permits a 30 %
increase in working speed.
Endless Slewing System

PALFINGER cranes are available with an endless slewing mechanism starting from as low as
25 mt. The inclusion as standard of a slewing ring represents the highest state of the art.
As a result, the precision of the slewing movement is optimised and the low friction permits
a high slewing moment.
Cable Winch
The cable winches are available in four performance classes (1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 tonnes
lifting capacity) and meet all the requirements demanded of an efficient cable winch in
operating practice: optimal performance, high working speed, proven safety equipment
and compact design.

Environmental protection
For PALFINGER, protecting the environment is no small matter. Light-weight construction reduces the carrier-vehicle's fuel consumption.
The use of ecological and recyclable materials comes natural to us:

• Chromium VI-free coating on all small parts which require corrosion protection (pipes, threaded joints and brackets)
• Use of water-soluble top coating for surface treatments
• Maintenance-free boom extension system, initial greasing with vegetable grease
• Biodegradable hydraulic oils (optional)

Product Feature
With the maintenance-free boom extension system, PALFINGER leads the way in service-friendliness. The use of sliding elements
made from special synthetic material, together with the highly dependable KTL cataphoretic dip painting, means that the operator
no longer needs to grease the boom system. That not only saves time and money, but also helps the environment.

How it works
The sliding elements are molded from special synthetic material and have self-lubricating properties. No further servicing is required
after the one-time, initial lubrication, in which vegetable grease is used. All other elements (slide rails, slide blocks, etc.) operate
without grease. These elements have only a secondary function as sliding elements; they are primarily employed as adjustment
and guiding elements. Special synthetic materials are also used for the paint in order to protect against corrosion.
