CONTRACTOR shall control the quality of materials and workmanship to meet the requirements of this specification, the applicable codes and standards, and the CONTRACTOR’s Inspection/Test Plan. 2.1.2 The scope of work covered by this specification may be subject to quality surveillance by CONTRACTOR. This quality surveillance will be in accordance with the Quality Surveillance Plan included in the Purchase Order/Subcontract as applicable. 2.1.3 CONTRACTOR shall develop a quality management system in accordance with the “General Requirements for Supplier Quality Systems” included in the Purchase Order/Subcontract to control the quality of the precast concrete. Quality management system shall also meet the requirements of PCI MNL-116. 2.1.4 Precast concrete manufacturing plant shall shall be tested in Independent Lab approved by OWNER. 3.0 BASIC DESIGN / TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1. Concrete Materials 3.1.1. Concrete materials shall be in accordance with 26070-100-3SS-DB01-J0001, Standard Engineering Specification for Furnishing and Delivery of Concrete. Concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength of 4000 psi (28 Mpa) cube at 28-days in accordance with SNI 03-2847. 3.1.2 Altemate concrete materials may be used only after obtaining written acceptance from OWNER's Engineer. Formwork and Anchors, Inserts, and Accessories Cast into Precast Members Formwork shall be in accordance with PCI MNL-116 and 26070-100-3SS-DB02- 40001, Standard Engineering Specification for Concrete Work. Anchors, inserts, and accessories cast into precast members shall be hot-dip galvanized steel in accordance with 26070-100-3SS-NX00-J0003, Specification for Galvanized Steel, unless as permitted in Section 3.4.3, Structural steel shapes, plates, bolts, and headed studs shall be furnished in accordance with 26070-100-3SS-SS01-J0001, Standard Engineering Specification for Furnishing Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Stee! Alternate materials and coating may be used only after obtaining written acceptance from OWNER's Engineer. Grout Grout materials, concrete adhesives, and methods employed for installation of these products shall conform to the requirements of 26070-100-3SS-DBO01-J0002, Standard Engineering Specification for Grout and Adhesives, Materials and Installations. Alternate grout material required for specialized work shall be identified by CONTRACTOR and be subject to approval by OWNER's Engineer prior to use. INSPECTION AND TEST General Fabrication procedures shall meet the requirements of PCI MNL-116. CONTRACTOR shall review design drawings and identify the need for additional reinforcement for handling, transportation, and erection purposes. CONTRACTOR shall reinforce precast concrete members to resist handling, transportation, and erection stresses. Reinforcing steel shall be placed in accordance with 26070-100-3SS-DB02-10001, Standard Engineering Specification for Concrete Work, Conerete shall be placed in a continuous operation to prevent cold joints or planes of weakness from forming in precast concrete members. Construction joints may only be installed as identified on the design drawings, unless prior approval has been obtained from the CONTRACTOR's Engineer. For surface finish requirements refer to 26070-100-3SS-DB02-J0001, Standard Engineering Specification for Concrete Work. Curing of concrete shall be in accordance with PC! MNL-116, by moisture retention without heat or by accelerated heat curing using live steam or radiant heat and moisture. Members shall be cured until compressive strength is high enough to ensure that stripping does not have an effect on the performance or appearance of final product Tho maximum curing temperature in concrete shall not exceed 158°F (70°C). Precast members having dimensions not conforming to specified tolerances will be subject to rejection if appearance or function of the structure is adversely affected Lifting/pickup points of precast concrete members and lift direction shall be identified with permanent markings, complying with markings indicated on shop drawings. 4.1.10 Precast concrete members shall be permanently marked to indicate their location, orientation in the structure, and the date of manufacture. Markings shall be placed such that they are not visible once the structure is erected 4.2 Proparation for Shipment 424 4.22 423 424 425 4.26 427 Precast concrete members shall be delivered in such quantities and at such times to assure compliance with the agreed upon project schedule and setting sequence to ensure continuity of erection. Members shall be shipped to the jobsite after the specified 28-day concrete compressive strength has been achieved, but not less than 7 days after casting and curing in accordance with SNI 03-2847. Members shall be handled and transported in a manner to avoid excessive stresses that could cause cracking or other damage, Members shall be lifted and supported during manufacturing, stockpiling, transporting, and erection operations only at the designated points indicated on shop drawings and with suitable lifting devices. Members shall be stored with adequate dunnage and bracing to prevent contact with soil, staining, and to contro! cracking, distortion, warping, or other physical damage. Unless otherwise specified or shown on shop drawings, members shall be stored with dunnage across full width of each bearing point. Stored members shall be placed so that identification marks are clearly visible, and units can be inspected. Erection of precast concrete members shall be in accordance with PCI MNL-127. 5.1.2. Precast concrete members shall be lifted, supported, and erected so as to prevent damage or overstressing. 5.1.3. Precast concrete members shall be lifted by the lifting inserts, loops, or other lifting devices furnished by the CONTRACTOR, as shown on shop drawings. 5.1.4 CONTRACTOR shall provide temporary steel or plastic shims, bearing pads, fit-up bolts, and other tools or equipment as required for the erection of precast concrete members, 5.1.5 Members shall be set in position properly leveled and aligned as shown on shop drawings. CONTRACTOR shall provide temporary structural framing, shoring, and bracing as required to maintain position, stability, and alignment of members until permanent connections are completed. 5.1.6 Members shall be erected so that their erected position does not differ from the position shown on approved shop drawings by more than the allowable tolerances per PCI MNL-135, or as shown on design drawings. 5.1.7 Precast concrete members shall be connected in position by bolting, welding, grouting, cast-in-place concrete joints, or as otherwise indicated on shop drawings. 5.1.8 Defects detected after erection by the CONTRACTOR at the site shall be brought to the attention of the OWNER for disposition. This could include repair or removal and replacement of the member or unit 5.1.9. Temporary lifting and handling devices shall be removed after erection by bending them over or by cutting them flush with the surface of the conorete. If insert material may cause stains to surfaces exposed to view, concrete shall be inset cut minimum, of 2 in, (50 mm) and patched with project approved grout.
