INTRODUCTION:
Symptom : Low reliability of the ODU connector on the RF coils
Cause : Too high connector chassis tolerances
Remedy : Replace chassis and keyings of ODU connectors on RF coils

This FCO must be executed together with FCO781 00081 and FCO781 00082

MANPOWER / TIME TO COMPLETE:

30 minutes per coil for 1 engineer (15 min. modification + 15 min. testing).

TOOLS & TEST EQUIPMENT:

Only the standard tool kit is required.

PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the three screws (figure 7: item 6 and 7) from the
coil connector. Figure 1 – ODU Coil connector

2. Lift the chassis (figure 7:item 2 and 3) until you have

access to the two screws (figure 7:item 5) that hold the Figure 2 – ODU Coil connector
chassis together.

3. Carefully remove the chassis part (figure 7: item 2) from
the connector modules. Do not change the order of the Figure 3 – ODU Coil connector
connector modules and do not rotate the modules.

4. The connector is now disassembled. Note that not all
connector modules have wires connected to them. The Figure 4 – ODU Coil connector
three keying strips are also removed.

Push the RF pin into the connector module (Figure 6) untill

6. Mount the new supplied chassis and the new keying strips
in the reverse order.
Mount the connector modules and keying strips in the
correct order. For the correct order, select the table (from
table 1 to table 7) that corresponds with the 12NC code of
your adapter.
7. Remove the 12NC label from the adaptor and glue the
supplied label with the same 11NC and increased last digit.
Refer to table 8 for an overview of labels.
