A RESOLUTION CALLING THE COUNCIL OF STUDENT LEADERS TO SUMMON ERNEST FRANCIS CALAYAG AND MARIE ANGELIQUE RIVERA TO RETURN

THE BOND FEES COLLECTED IN THE LAST UPLB FEBRUARY FAIR Proposed by/Sponsored by: College of Forestry and Natural Resources Student Council-UPLB Resolution No. 2011-01 WHEREAS, the students of the University of the Philippines Los Baos to voice out their sentiments and concerns during the dictatorship of Marcos conceptualized and brought to fruition the protest fair or the infamously known UPLB February Fair that is still held every year up to now to carry on the tradition of militancy and role of the youth in nation building; and WHEREAS, that UPLB Student Councils comprising of the University Student Council and College Student Councils are the organizers of the UPLB February Fair and is headed by an ad hoc committee entitled February Fair Committee; and WHEREAS, in practice the organizers of the event collect bond fees from student organizations or group of students who wants to avail of a booth inside the fair grounds and this fee will be returned immediately (one week after) provided that they will follow the contract between them and the organizers; and WHEREAS, the contract contains the signatories of the University Student Council Chairperson and February Fair Committee Head holding them liable for breach of contract and that for last years term they are Ernest Francis Calayag and Marie Angelique Rivera respectively; and WHEREAS, the organizers of the February Fair last year failed to return the bond fees thus violating the provisions of last years contract; and WHEREAS, the Council of Student Leaders which is a venue for student consultations and resolution building drafted the contract of last years February Fair together with the UPLB Student Councils; and BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of Student Leaders support the actions of the UPLB Student Councils in requiring Ernest Francis Calayag and Marie Angelique Rivera to return the bond fees of student organizations and concessionaires; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of Student Leaders create statements and/or other creative means to pursue Ernest Francis Calayag and Marie Angelique Rivera and hold them liable against the law; and RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Council of Student Leaders together with the UPLB Student Councils work hand in hand to carry on this campaign to other students to put an end to this issue and bring justice to those aggrieved; and
