The alphabet; spelling, phonics, pronunciation of consonants, vowels and diphthongs Usage of capital and non capital letters, spelling 5. Numbers; spelling, counting, how much/many (countable/uncountable)... 6. Basic vocabulary Dictation, meanings, games and enjoyable comprehension 7. Basic phrases, expressions and questions Hello vs. Hi; How are you? vs. How you doing? I don't know/understand- Can you explain this to me? Can you help me please? - Of curse vs. Sure Are you sure? Saying sorry; being sorry for smth Basic expressions using verbs: close, open, start, listen, look at (smth/smbd), repeat, stand up, sit down, go, answer, raise (your hand), talk, speak 8. Verb To Be verb to be+subject pronouns 1st person sing/plural; 2nd p. sing/plural; 3rd p. sing/plural Questions and answers practices 9. They must start using the book at this point and advancing acording to its program. Depending on the group's advance this introduction should last between two and four weeks, but no more than that. Each theme should be understood very clearly bye the students at the end of this period.

False beginners and 3

The same issues should be studied for false beginners, in order to develope skills and make corrections on any deficiencies they may have on the language. It is also a goood way to identify the student's problems in communication and grammar. The period for studying these items should be no longer than 2 weeks, and it ought to be accompanied by reinforcing listenings, carefully reviwed and practiced. The practice of a good pronunciation is a must at this level. The reading comprehension is also an important issue.
