Executive Summery

3G is now a most innovative of technology of the world. Consumer of Developed nation already started using 3G services and some of the developing nation also implements 3G services in the recent. In terms of Bangladesh, The progress about this 3G service is too slow. Except Grameen Phone no others telecommunications operator had done any infrastructure feasibility test on this issue. To know about more about 3G in Bangladesh, we will try to do a research on topic. Our Research topic on this issue will be Revenue Forecast test of 3G Service in Bangladesh. We will begin our research work by collecting and generating secondary data and after the secondary data we will analyze data, so that we will able to know more about problem that might arises if 3G available in Bangladesh. Based on three randomization we will approach to the problem. Focuses on those problems we try to do survey, to know about the consumer reaction and their view point about the issue. Our research design will be mainly exploratory based research. At first we will try collect descripted information about 3G technologies. We will use three type survey methods for constructing questionnaire. For this research project we will use nominal scaling method. We will use it because it very easy to use and less time is required to analyze data. For the survey we will try to collect response of 50 people. As we do not have much time conduct large survey. For analyzing data of the primary data of this project, we will use SPSS software. We also try to use Hypothesis, Covariate Function & Regression Function of SPSS software to manipulate data in a easier way.

Background
3G is now one of the most talked topic of Telecommunication arena of Bangladesh. Telecommunication operator of others parts of Asia already introduced 3G service and as a result majority of our consumer expecting that soon 3G service will be launched in Bangladesh. 3G refers to the third generation of mobile telephony (that is, cellular) technology. The third generation, as the name suggests, follows two earlier generations. The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) defined the third generation (3G) of mobile telephony standards IMT-2000 to facilitate growth, increase bandwidth, and support more diverse applications. For example, GSM could deliver not only voice, but also circuit-switched data at speeds up to 14.4 Kbps. But to support mobile multimedia applications, 3G had to deliver packet-switched data with better spectral efficiency, at far greater speeds. 2G (or 2-G) is short for second-generation wireless telephone technology. Second generation 2G cellular telecom networks were commercially launched on the GSM standard in Finland by Radiolinja (now part of Elisa Oyj) in 1991. Three primary benefits of 2G networks over their predecessors were that phone conversations were digitally encrypted; 2G systems were significantly more efficient on the spectrum allowing for far greater mobile phone penetration levels; and 2G introduced data services for mobile, starting with SMS text messages. Currently, In Bangladesh Major Telecommunication Operator Like Grameen Phone ,Bangla Link & Airtel Planning to introduce 3G mobile service for the mobile user of Bangladesh. Grameen Phone had already done feasibility test on this issue, to know whether Bangladeshi Infrastructure support the 3G

service or Not. Grameen Phone run a project name Alokito Bangladesh by the technological support of Sony Ericson. After conducting this feasibility test by Grameen Phone it is cleared that 3G is feasible in Bangladesh in terms of Technology. From background it information it is clear that 3G is feasible in terms Infrastructure. In this Paper we are going to focus on the environmental of 3G service in Bangladesh. We will try to find out the revenue of the 3G service by forecasting.

Objective of the research

The study objectives of this research is to understand the Consumers mentality and perception regarding introducing 3G service in Bangladesh and check whether 3G service will be profit or not in terms of revenue

Approach to the problem

We will approach to the problem of our research project by creating three type of Randomization. The randomizations that we are going to use for this research are following: People who use 3G Comfortable Mobile Sets: To get the full & and reliable service from 3G network, it is required that consumer should have smart & hi-tech mobile phone to have. For this reason at first we try to find the number people who are using 3G comfortable mobile sets. Here, we will mainly predict the percentage from survey result. People who are not satisfied with their existing Mobile Broad Band: In this randomization model we will try find out the reaction of existing mobile

broad band user. We will try find out whether they are satisfied or not with the service? If they are not, then why they are not satisfied with the service. Reaction of Corporate Business Man: In this segment we will try find out the view point of Corporate Business Man. What they think about this kind of service? Will this kind of service make their life flexible or not? Finally, after reviewing all the result of this three randomization people we will try conclude decision that whether 3G service is feasible or not, in terms of profit.

Research Design
Our research will be mainly exploratory Research; at first we try to do an exploratory research the topic in details. We will try to learn more about the topic by browsing internet and reviewing some of the book written based on this issue. The topic and issue that we will cover in our research design are following: Information Generate: By doing exploratory researches on this issue we will at first try to gather and generate some secondary source. By analyzing secondary source we will try to understand the problem of revenue test of 3G service in Bangladesh in details. Method administering the questionnaire: For our questionnaire we will try to use three type methods for administering it .The three methods that we are going to use are 1) Telephone Survey 2) Field Survey & 3) Facebook Survey. As our Research population are mainly those people : People who are not satisfied with the existing Mobile Broadband speed. Business Man
4

People who use 3G comfortable Mobile Sets. We have selected this entire people in our survey population because now days their number is increasing day by day in Bangladesh. Analyzing their mentality & and perception on this issue can surely told us that in terms of revenue test whether 3G service is profitable or not. Scaling Technique: For making our research process easier and flexible we will use nominal scale method for analyzing our data. Questionnaire Nature: Our questionnaire structured will be structured question. As this is a marketing research and for this reason we will do our survey based on structured question. So that we can have a clear understanding about the consumer reaction. Sampling Plan: For our survey we will try to do a survey on 50 samples. As we do not have enough time and resource to perform a broad research for this we think 50 sample will be good for to do a survey.

Fieldwork/Data Collection
Based on a structured question we will try to collect some primary data by doing a small survey. Majority of our survey student will be University student, we are selecting this segment because university student are easy to reach. As we do not have sufficient time conduct a large survey for this reason university student will be main focus. We will also try to take some survey by phone so that we can take response from different people from different area of the society. We will also try use Facebook to collect some responses. Our Field survey will be takes place in the different university campus Dhaka. Primarily our focuses will be Dhaka University, North South University , Independent University and etc.

Data Analysis
Data analysis is a systematic procedure in which raw data or primary data is ordered and organized so that useful information can be extracted from it. The process of organizing and thinking about data is key to understanding what the data does and does not contain. For our flexibility we will use SPSS for data analysis. We will at first use Frequency Analysis to manipulate the in terms of their characteristic. After that we will do hypothesis test, to know the consumer reaction. To know and manipulate in an effective & efficient way will might use Covariate Analysis, Regression Model and Simple cross tabulations.

Reporting
After completing each we notify our instructor about the outcome our work. By taking his comment & suggestion, we will correct our mistake & try to improve our work then move one to further step. By engaging in this kind of step we believe we will able create a good research project. We will try to complete this research within the reasonable time limit.

Cost & Time

The critical Path method for completing this research is following: Critical Path Method of Our Research Design We are trying to complete fundamental work our research project within 25 days. As from graph it is clear that we used 4 days to collect and analysis of secondary data. After generating and analyzing of secondary data we will try to complete our survey within four days. After getting the primary we will analyze the data within 3 days. Main part of the research is preparing the report for the general reader and for this we have made the decision that we
6

will try to complete our report with 5 days. So that we can create a standard report that our general reader will understand. Our forecast about the cost to complete this research is nearly 5000 taka. As we have time constraint we believe 5000 taka will be enough to complete this research project within the short period of time.
