Reliability, Comparison, SEQ Factor/Judgment Skills


Types of Reliability Questions: 1. Does this source prove 2. Can you trust or believe Always look out for 1. Provenance (author) E.g. State which source supports given source: Source C is reliable because it is supported by Source D. 2. State what both sources says (Evidence). Source C says . Source D also says . Remember that issue is the thing being proved and the evidence must match. 3. Explain why the source supports the given source. 4. State which source does not support given source. Source C is unreliable as Source E challenges or contradicts it. 5. State what both sources says (Evidence). Source C says whereas Source D says . Remember that issue is the thing being proved and the evidence must match. Reminders 1. 1 Source is enough to support the given source. Always put 1 source in 1 paragraph. 2. Remember to answer the question in the first sentence. Inference Always give 2 inferences where possible, and dont forget to answer the question!

Source Based Question (Comparison) 1. How similar/different Do both similarities and differences. 2. Must state whether sources are similar or different in 1st sentence. 3. State the common criterion (Match) (Common trend between Factor Question 1. 4 Paragraphs: Given Factor, 2 other factors and conclusion. 2. Identify issue / Question 3. Identify given factor 4. Special types of judgment question (with 3 factors given) are answered differently. You must describe and explain each factor in 3 paragraphs, then last paragraph give a conclusion (weigh the factors). DO NOT ANSWER THE QNS IN THE 1ST PARAGRAPH!
