Lightspeed Venture Partners - System Administrator The System Administrator provides complete support services to onsite and remote

employees. System administration includes support for users, servers, network, mobile devices, and messaging infrastructure. The system administrator works in concert with the Director of IT to maintain company policies and guidelines. Responsibilities: Primary initial contact for all support issues Complete IT requests in a timely fashion and provide documentation as necessary Autonomously assess, troubleshoot and solve common IT issues Implement, administer and troubleshoot installed desktop/laptop systems and software, peripheral equipment and office fax/scanner/printers Prepare and maintain desktop system configuration documentation and provide end user training Install hardware/software upgrades, patches and service packs on desktop, mobile, and server hardware Manage Blackberry and other mobile devices including troubleshooting, upgrades, updates, deployment and replacement Administer VMware infrastructure and virtual machines Manage backup infrastructure and offsite tape/drive handling/schedule Administer Shoretel VOIP phone system as needed Troubleshoot and help maintain A/V Equipment in 7 conference rooms Physical movement of IT gear as needed (office moves or swaps) On-call and available to support staff; provide independent judgment and discretion in analyzing and resolving complex infrastructure incidents. Work on projects as needed with or under the direction of the Director of IT Bring forward ideas for improving tasks, policies and projects After hours support will sometimes be required for server maintenance, and emergency support of our local or international offices Qualifications: Minimum of 2-4 years of IT administration/helpdesk experience. Prior experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Finance or Legal organizations a plus. Strong customer service skills, including ability to listen, interpret and explain computer related concepts in non-technical terms. Desire to learn and provide world class customer service Administration and configuration of Windows 2008 Active Directory environments Hands-on experience with MS Exchange Server 2007/2010, VMware 4/5, Blackberry Enterprise Server 4/5, Symantec Backup Exec 12/2010, and Veeam 5/6 Deep hands-on experience with Windows (7) desktop operating system. Mac experience is a plus but not required. Clear conceptual understanding of switched networks, firewalls and wireless access points Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with ability to escalate to multiple resources Experience in administering and troubleshooting medium office wired and wireless LAN, remote access client VPN, IP telephony and video/phone conferencing systems. Experience configuring and managing network printers, handheld devices (Blackberry, iPhone, etc.) Demonstrate ability to maintain a customer-service focus and calm demeanor at all times. Ability to prioritize and multitask concurrent projects and tasks Excellent verbal and written communications skills MCE, MCP, MCSE; or equivalent certification a plus AA/AS required, BA/BS or advanced degree preferred
