Materials & supplies:
1. Yarn: YarnArt Jeans (50g/160m).
- for sweater: Mondial Superwool (50g/125m) (you
can use YarnArt Jeans)
- for the orange sweater I used yarn: Mondial
Superwool (50g/125m)
- for the red scarf I used yarn: ALIZE Lanagold
Classic (100g/240m)
2. Hook: 1,15 mm (you can use hook of any size
which is comfortable for you)
3. 2 black beads for eyes: 4-5mm
4. 2 buttons: 6-8mm
5. White thread of any thickness for eyes
6. Filling: glass granulate 3-4mm.
7. Big tapestry needle for sewing details together

9. Scissors
10. Stitch marker to mark the beginning of each
round (I use black thread)
11. Pastel crayons for toning the toy
12. Bell
Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
Sl st – slip stitch
Sc – single crochet
Inc – increase (2sc in one st)
Dec – decrease (2 st together)
R- row/round
(..) – number of stitches in a round/row
()*… – repeat instructions in brackets … times
DEER
Body and head:
First leg:
Use brown yarn.
1 R – 6sc in magic ring
Place the marker to mark the beginning of the row
2 R – inc×6 (12)
3 R – 12sc
4 R – (1sc, inc)×6 (18)
Change yarn to main color.
5-8 R – 18sc (4Rs)
Fasten off. Cut the yarn.
Second leg, body:
Repeat round of R 1-8 of first leg.
Don`t fasten off.
Continue: chain 4 and join the first leg with slip
stitch.
Place the marker to mark the beginning of the row:
9 R – 18 sc around the first leg, 4 sc (1 st in each st
of the chain), 18 sc around the second leg, 4sc (1 st
in each st of the chain) (44)
10 R – 18sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 18sc, inc, 2sc,inc (48)
11 R – 18sc, inc, 4sc, inc, 18sc, inc, 4sc, inc (52)
Start stuffing the legs.
12-16 R – 52sc (5Rs)
Crochet 10-11sc to move the beginning of the row
to the left and change the color of the yarn to
green.
17-24 R – 52sc (8Rs)
Start to make decreases on the sides of the toy.
Crochet 1-2sc to move the beginning of the row, so
decreases would be evenly on the sides of the toy.
Place the marker to mark the beginning of the
round.
Fill the body with glass granulate or other free-
flowing filler. The size of the granules should be
such that they do not fall out through the binding
(3-4mm). Stuff it as you go. Do not fill tightly, the
body should be flat.

Start to make decreases on the sides of the head.
Crochet 1-3sc to move the beginning of the row, so
decreases would be evenly on the sides of the head.

Fill the head with glass granulate. The head should
also remain flat.

Fasten off. Close hole. Hide yarn tail inside the
detail.
In order to prevent the glass granulate from falling
out of the head, several inconspicuous stitches can
be made in the neck area:
Arms:
Use main yarn.
1 R – 5sc in magic ring
Place the marker to mark the beginning of the row.
2 R – inc×5 (10)
3 R – (1sc, inc)×5 (15)
4-6 R – 15sc (3Rs)
Change yarn to green color:
7-10 R – 15sc (4Rs)
Stuff arms with glass granulate. Do not fill the arm
too tightly to keep it flat.
Fold edges together and sc with 7 sc.
Fasten off. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for
assembly.
Make 2 details.
Ears:
Use main yarn.
1 R – 5sc in magic ring
Place the marker to mark the beginning of the row.
2 R – inc×5 (10)
3-4 R – 10sc (2 Rs)
5 R – dec×5 (5)
Fasten off. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for
assembly.
Make 2 details.
Horns:
Use brown yarn. To crochet horns, we need a
thinner thread, so we split the thread into two
parts.
First detail:
1 R – 6sc in magic ring
2 R – 6sc
Fasten off.
Second detail:
1 R – 6sc in magic ring
2-4 R – 6sc (3Rs)
Don`t fasten off. Join the first detail with slip
stitch (according to the same principle that we used
when connecting the legs).
5 R - 6 sc around the first detail, 6 sc around the
second detail (12)
6 R - (dec, 1sc)×4 (8)
7 R - (dec, 2sc)×2 (6)
Fasten off. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for
assembly.
Make the second horn in the same way.
Muzzle:
Use white yarn.
1 R – 6sc in magic ring
Place the marker to mark the beginning of the row.
2 R – inc×6 (12)
3 R – (1sc, inc)×6 (18)
Pull the working thread through the last loop of the
previous row to close the row into a circle.
Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for assembly.
SCARF
Use red yarn.
Chain of 90 and crochet 89 sl sts backwards.
Cut the yarn, fasten off and hide the tail of the
yarn.
CANDY CANE
Use white yarn.
1 R – 6sc in magic ring
Place the marker to mark the beginning of the row
2R – 6sc
Change yarn to green color:
3-4 R – 6sc (2Rs)
Change yarn to white color:
5-6 R – 3sl sts, 3sc (2Rs)
Change yarn to green color:
7-8 R – 1sc, 3sl sts, 2sc (2Rs)
Change yarn to white color:
9-10 R – 2sc, 3sl sts, 1sc (2Rs)
Change yarn to green color:
11-12 R – 6sc (2Rs)
Change yarn to white color:
13-14 R – 6sc (2Rs)
Similarly, make 8 rows, changing the color of the
yarn every two rows.
Fasten off. Close hole.
ASSEMBLING
[Link] arms on the sides of the body at the level of
rows 30-37.
2. Sew the ears to the head at the level of 48-50
rows.
3. Sew the horns to the head at the level of 51-53
rows.
4. Sew the muzzle to the head at the level of 41-
46 rows. On the muzzle embroider the nose as
shown in the photo below:
5. Sew eyes to the head at the level of rows 45-
46. Embroider eyes shadows with white thread as
shown in the photo below:
6. Embroider specks on the forehead at the level
of 49-50 rows.
7. Sew on two buttons on the sweater.
8. Tone the muzzle with pastel crayons around the
eyes and on the nose. Put blush on the cheeks.
Make the dots on the sweater with white pastels.
