Mrs.

Caroline Caballes-Suntay, CEO of Storage Solutions Philippines, started her

business a decade ago. She entered this business after gaining valuable experience
from her professional retail work here and abroad. Her business steadily grew and one
day she realized: What is next? She spoke to her former superior/mentor and asked
how she could give back to society.
She thought of:

1) Improving further the lives of her employees with emphasis on empowering

women;

2) providing more support and commitment to local manufacturers that she uses in
producing her merchandise; and

3) contributing to the care of the environment given the nature of her business (storage
items, such as travel kits, wallets, organizers, and the like, made of plastic, fabric,
leatherette, and other natural and synthetic materials)

She is aware of the concept of CSR and has a general idea of how it works but she
needs guidance on how to start her CSR journey in a meaningful and sustainable
manner. Mrs. Suntay also specifically wants to strategically approach her engagement
as she wants her company to continue to grow and help in national economic
development
Questions

1. What do you think were the reasons Mrs. Suntay is interested in participating in
CSR? Relate Carroll’s framework and/or leadership in your response.

It’s too improve the lives of her employees with the focus on empowering women also
in taking care and more support for manufacturers that she uses to resupply her
company and finally to contribute to the environment to the extent of redirecting
synthetic material into using more eco-friendly materials to use for her company.
Moreover most likely she is following the triple bottom line but she does the two which
are people and planet.

2. Where should the CEO focus her CSR efforts? How should she prioritize her
desired engagements

She should prioritize the triple bottom line mentioned in the first answer which is the
people, planet and profit to which it basically supports each other to being a foundation
in her company, first people by taking care of her employees she is maintain a more
loyal and more productive team and by being more supportive of the manufacturers
that she chose she is more likely to be a main relationship between the two partners
and second is the planet she is advocating for more eco-friendly products to appeal to
the standards to save the planet from further pollution, and lastly is profit from which we
combine all of this without profit she cannot do anything from maintaining the
relationship between the manufacturers to the employees and customers she maintains
a stable income to give back to mother nature by spending it on new products which
use significantly less synthetic materials

3. Does the TBL concept apply in the case of Storage Solutions? Why or why not?

Yes, in terms planet in the triple P’s she is advocating for more eco-friendly products to
be produced to which storage wise they could also reduce the number of which they
can cut down on using the synthetic materials, furthermore it will be likely she would
reduce the amount of storage with more natural materials whatever she produces,
moreover she would also reduce the amount of pollution it would make to make for a
variable to climate change
