Dvir Aroch – volleyball project

Introduction
Hello, my name is dvir, I am in 12th grade right now and I chose
.to do my project on volleyball
Not many people like this sport like I do also people don’t
?know much of this sport, so what is volleyball actually
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are
separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by
grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized
.rules

I chose volleyball for the project because I personally love this

sport, I play in a team That plays in the official league and also
when I was younger, I played volleyball everywhere I could. It
was and still is a way of life for me. volleyball built my
.confidence and made me the way I am at the present

I hope to learn from volleyball to be more patient with time,

myself, and others. I hope to learn to be smarter and look at
things differently because I think volleyball can make
someone change in a good way like all things in the world
right, in my experience in that sport it changed me in a good
.way I think it made me adept to things faster than usual

origin of volleyball traces its roots to a rather humble
.beginning

of volleyball in 1895. Volleyball has been a part of the official
program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964.
Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the
Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The adapted version of

Rules of the game )4
Volleyball court
The court dimensions
A volleyball court is 9 m × 18 m (29.5 ft × 59.1 ft), divided into
equal square halves by a net with a width of one meter
(39.4 in).[20] The top of the net is 2.43 m (7 ft 11+11⁄16 in) above
the center of the court for men's competition, and 2.24 m
(7 ft 4+3⁄16 in) for women's competition, varied for veterans
and junior competitions.[3]
The minimum height clearance for indoor volleyball courts is
7 m (23.0 ft), although a clearance of 8 m (26.2 ft) is
recommended.[20]
A line 3 m (9.8 ft) from and parallel to the net is considered
the "attack line". This "3 meter" (or "10-foot") line divides the
court into "back row" and "front row" areas (also back court
and front court).[20] These are in turn divided into 3 areas each:
these are numbered as follows, starting from area "1", which
:is the position of the serving player

4 DVIR AROCH
After a team gains the serve (also known as siding
out), its members must rotate in a clockwise direction, with
the player previously in area "2" moving to area "1" and so
on, with the player from area "1" moving to area "6".[3] Each
player rotates only one time after the team gains possession
of the service; the next time each player rotates will be after
the other team wins possession of the ball and loses the
point.[20]
The team courts are surrounded by an area called the free
zone which is a minimum of 3 meters wide and which the
players may enter and play within after the service of the ball.
[21]
All lines denoting the boundaries of the team court and the
attack zone are drawn or painted within the dimensions of the
area and are therefore a part of the court or zone. If a ball
comes in contact with the line, the ball is considered to be
"in". An antenna is placed on each side of the net
perpendicular to the sideline and is a vertical extension of the
side boundary of the court. A ball passing over the net must
pass completely between the antennae (or their theoretical
extensions to the ceiling) without contacting them.[3]

The FIVB's main activity is worldwide planning and )1 )5

organisation of volleyball events, sometimes in conjunction

with other international governing bodies such as the IOC.
This involves defining qualification procedures and
competition formulae for tournaments, as well as more
specific details such as player line-up and replacement
.restrictions, venues and hosts
The FIVB participates directly in the organization of
continental volleyball events which have an attached
international significance, such as Olympic and World
.Championship continental qualification tournaments
The Israeli Men's Volleyball First League is the most )2
important Israeli men's volleyball competition organized by
the Israeli Volleyball Association (IVA) it was established in
1956, The 2018/19 Edition of the Israeli Volleyball Premier
League was attended by 8 teams: "Hapoel (Matte Asher),
Hapoel (Kfar Sava), Maccabi (Tel Aviv), Hapoel Menashe-
Hadera (Emek-Hefer), Maccabi (Hod-Ha Sharon), Ilabon,
Elitzur-Carmel (Kohav-Yair-Tzur-Igal), KK (Tel Aviv). The
championship title for the 2nd time in a row was won by the
team Hapoel (Mate-Ascher), which won the final series
beating Hapoel (Kfar Sava) 3-1 (3:1, 1:3, 3:0, 3:1). The 3rd
.place went to Maccabi (Tel Aviv)
enia Grebennikov is a libero of France he is the number one )6
libero of the year 2023, At just 31 years of age, Jenia has
racked up over 500 matches to his name, making him by far
.the most experienced player on this list
Having started playing in France, he has also played in
Germany and Italy and he now plays for Zenit St. Petersburg in
.Russia

6 DVIR AROCH
Jenia literally plays by his own rules and uses different
.techniques to most liberos
He’s well known for defending much closer to the attack line
than where most liberos will stand when defending in their
.first base position
.He also adopts an extremely upright stance when digging
Erik Shoji is a Team USA libero who has had an epic career
playing all over the world: Germany, Austria, Russia, Itality,
.and currently in Poland
At 32 years old, Shoji has played almost 300 matches and is
still racking up awards with his most recent being ‘best digger’
.at the 2021 Olympics
Digging excellence is something that describes Shoji well. He’s
known for his incredible speed and ability to chase down and
.dig volleyballs most won’t get close to
How players communicate with each other in volleyball? )7
.players using signs and callouts mostly
How do players position themselves in right position? )8
Players in most situations go for their base position for
defense but players also looking for holes in the opposite
.team court to score so mostly there

New Words

Digging- I DIGED THE BALL FROM THE SPIKER )1

.Set- My setter set the ball to me to spike )2
.Epic- My visit to USA was very epic )3

7 DVIR AROCH
Amassed- he has quickly amassed a huge following )4
reacting to all sorts of different volleyball related
.topics
Nonetheless- Nonetheless, Zatorski has well and truly )5
mastered his craft and has been earning ‘best libero’
.awards for over a decade now
The libero position has only been a thing for 25 or so
years, and in that time Zatorski has well and truly earnt
.his place as one of the best to ever do it

Reflection
I enjoyed learning more about volleyball than I knew
.before
It was difficult to answer all the questions and
.research about them
Working alone was kind of fun I more enjoy write on
