If you asked me, which app do I consider the best one for learning languages, I would say, taking
into
a count all the advantages that you can get by using it, Duolingo. How many times did you have the
urge to learn a new language but in an easy, ludic, and fast way?
Duolingo is a language-learning platform where people from around the world can master a
language that they don’t know yet. The company’s mission is to make education free, fun and
accessible for all. Duolingo is designed to feel like a game and scientifically proven to be effective.
There are many other apps created for the same thing like Babbel, which has a modest selection of
languages, or maybe Memrise, but neither have the unique features and clear structure that
Duolingo has.
For example, comparing it with Babbel, we can see that it is very equipped, and it is true that is
proven that a person can learn a language with this application, however, Duolingo by working
based on games and levels is ideal for children, as it serves to review what they have learned at
school and specially to have fun.
As I said before, Duolingo is made to develop the best education in the world, and we can find some
advantages in their teaching approach. Starting off, they have an effective and efficient way of
teaching reading, listening, and speaking skills. A study has proven this stamen saying that when
Duolingo Spanish and French learners reached Checkpoint 5 at the end of the beginning level course
content on Duolingo, their reading and listening proficiencies were comparable to what university
students accomplished in four semesters of classes.
