DUOLINGO

Duolingo.com is one of applications that will make us better proficient in foreign

language. English is not the only language we can learn through duoliongo, as duolingo
also provides such other language learning options Spanish, French, Dutch and other. If
we are already proficient in English, then we can learn all the language options Duolingo
provides at the beginning of the application. Whereas if we are only proficient in
Indonesian or Vietnamese, then we can only learn English.

Duolingo carries the concept of "playing while learning" to make it more fun and
easy to use for all ages. We certainly feel tired of doing daily routines, and we can relax
for a moment while learning a foreign language with Duolingo. We certainly remember
how the generation of the 90s began to speak English fluently thanks to various game
consoles that are routinely played every day.

This is what Duolingo wants to achieve to improve foreign language skills for
many people. For this innovation, Duolingo successfully won Google Play's Best of the
Best 2013 award from Google because the gamification technique used was very
effective in making many people learn new knowledge.

There are some features of Duolingo :

1. Learning process
 After completing registration, we will be directed to choose what type of language
we want to learn. We will also be invited to improve language skills through various
tests such as 2 basic test levels, phrases, food, animal names, phrases in foreign
languages, color names, conjunctions and various other basic tests.

In each language we will study, the foreign language is divided into 8 categories,
each of which contains 15 different lessons. The initial process of learning will
certainly be filled with easy material with increasing levels of difficulty. If we pass
in some subject matter, we will get a bonus reward for going up to the next level. In
each lesson test at Duolingo, we have 4 lives that must be maintained so we don't
return to the initial test.

2. Friend feature

Duolingo also provides a friend feature that connects us with other Duolingo
users. We can compare our scores with the scores of others we have followed.

3. Duolingo shop

This one feature is very unique and exciting, just as we visit an equipment store
while playing games. If we play a lot of tests to get as many Lingot (currency in
Duolingo), then we can buy various items that will facilitate the learning process.
There is an item "heart refill" that will add one life automatically when we answer
the wrong test. And there are also other features in addition to the avatar outfit that
we use.

The steps of using Duolingo :

1. At the beginning of opening Duolingo, you will see the front page below. If you are
new user, you should choose "mulai" to register but, if you have had account, you
 should choose "akses masuk" to log in.

2. After entering, you will be directed to choose what language you want to learn.
3. Set your level study. Every lesson in the Duolingo app gives you experience points
(XP). You get 10 XP per lesson, but you can choose how many lessons you want per
day.
4. Choose one of them and test out of what you already know.

5. Then you will be invited to hone language skills with various tests on Duolingo. There are
Basic 1, Basic 2, Phrases, Food, Animals, Plural, Clothing, Colors, Questions, Connect Words,
and so on. In each language learned, the learning system is divided into eight categories.
Each category consists of 15 different lessons. At the beginning of the lesson you will learn
easy-to-remember words like "Women, Men, and Children". And if you have passed in a
number of lessons then you will get a reward and also go up to the next level.
6. Set your profile to record your track of study.
7. The skill tree is where you'll do the majority of your learning. It's split into different
units, and each unit contains multiple lessons. As you progress through the language,
more units will be available to you.
