Last Sunday, a great ceremony took place at Addis Abbaba [Ababa], the capital of Abyssinia. It was the coronation of the new Emperor of Ethiopia - Ras Tafari. From reports and expectations, the scene was one of great splendour, and will long be remembered by those who were present. Several of the leading nations of Europe sent representatives to the coronation, thereby paying their respects to a rising Negro nation that is destined to play a great part in the fiiture history of the world. Abyssinia is the land of the blacks and we are glad to learn that even though Europeans have been trying to impress the Abyssinians that they are not belonging to the Negro Race, they have returned the

retort that they are, and that they are proud to be so. Ras Tafari has travelled to Europe and America and is therefore no stranger to European hypocrisy and methods; he, therefore, must be regarded as a kind of a modern Emperor, and from what we understand and know of him, he intends to introduce modern methods and systems into his country. Already he has started to recruit from different sections of the world competent men in different branches of science to help to develop his country to the position that she should occupy among the other nations of the world. We do hope that Ras Tafari will live long to carry out his wonderful intentions. From what we have heard and what we do know, he is ready and willing to extend the hand of invitation to any Negro who desires to settle in his kingdom. We know of many who are gone to Abyssinia and who have given good report of the great possibilities there, which they are striving to take advantage of. The Psalmist prophesied that Princes would come out of Egypt and Ethiopia would stretch forth her hands unto God. We have no doubt that the time is now come. Ethiopia is now really stretching forth her hands. Every labourer is a father, his labour is his child. Choose your project carefully and achieve it worthily. Once a person has decided upon his life work and is assured that in doing the work for which he is best endowed and equipped, he is filling a vital need, what he then needs, is faith and integrity, compiled with courageous spirit so that no longer preferring himself to the fulfilment of his task, he may address himself to the problems he must solve in order to be effective. Rich and poor have always existed and always will. Why? Because there are those that work and those that dont, those that wish to earn their living and those that prefer to do nothing. Those that work, that want to work, are not poor. For it is true that Our Lord the Creator sends us into the world as equals, but it is also true that when one is born one is neither rich nor poor. One is naked. It is later on that one becomes rich or poor, according to ones desserts. Yes, we too are aware that giving alms serves no useful purpose. For there is only one means to solve the poverty problem. Work. We have said that whoever doesnt work because he doesnt want to is poor. We have said

that wealth has to be gained through hard work. We have said those who dont work starve. And now We add that the capacity to earn depends on the individual: Each individual is responsible for his misfortunes, his fate. It is wrong to expect help to fall from above, as a gift: Wealth has to be deserved. Work is one of the commandments of Our Lord the Creator! If each and everyone endeavours to cooperate and work in as much as his capacity permits, our faith rests upon the Almighty God that he would bless the results for us.It is not sufficient simply to see and admire the natural beauty and fertility of Ethiopia. It is our obligation to work upon and benefit from this country whose fertile soil has been granted us by the Almighty God. We have to gain honour and pride for the country. Whatever the task may be, man may begin it but he cannot complete it, unless God sustains and supports him. Some years ago, the Incient one, Jah Lloyd, in one of his many African Liberation presentations, hosted by the African Liberation I-nity, shared the following Ites of Rastafari Livity: Qidamawi Haile Selassie, earths rightful ruler stands supreme above all leaders and there set Kingciples to be followed in this

trod of I-ciency. It is a known fact, that after the destruction of Pinnacle by the Political regime of the day, Rastafari families were scattered far and wide. With this present situation, the uprising Nyah Man became more dominant as Leonard Howells presence was less visible within the Rastafari Community. Man and Man then began to sight up their own concept of the trod. Manychanges followed as various Rastafari leaders emerged. These new concepts became very visible in the forms of Nyah Binghi picnics of a social gathering which featured the playing of harps, eating, and smoking along with multiple reasoning on ones own agenda; while many were seen sitting in tents or groups outside the Ibernacle or place of reasoning, thus ignoring the collective reasoning set by the House Administrators. Now the burning issues are the suppressive regimes over InI. The question is: Who will rise up for InI against the evil doers? Who will stand up for InI against the workers of inequity?Now, remember, when InI go to Nyah Binghi it is not just Binghi!! Binghi!! It is the Nyah Binghi Theocracy Melchezidek Order, if you please. The reality is that Qidamawi Haile Selassie gave InI the three orders to deliver his people from captivity, and there are regulations that govern the Nyah Binghi Order such as: (1) Non political (2) Non violent (3) Non abusive (4)Non denominational Anytime you see any elder or younger ones going on like they want to violate any of these orders, put them in their place, as InI brings forward to memory that the elder generation was given a duty to perform. Jah gave the word and great were the company who published it. Note that Jah calls upon the younger ones because they are strong. Jah has given the youths wise mind and higher standings; therefore, the youths have no reason to plead with anyone, to tell them that Qidamawi Haile Selassie is the Ever Living Father, The Hola One, and The Almighty I. InI as Incients never have any similar reason to plead, for this is not our business. Our business to the Most High is to magnify the Authority of His Imperial Majesty Qidamawi Haile Selassie. InI should work through collective responsibility, leadership, and security. As InI always say, all for one, one for all acting in this manner, there will be no failure. So let the words of InI mouth and the meditations of InI heart be accepted in thy sight, O Jah Rastafari.

One of the most important events in the RasTafarian calendar is the Anniversary of the Coronation of Emperor Haile Selassie I. This event took place on the 2nd November 1930. His Imperial Majesty broke with trodition by delaying the ceremony for some time after the death of the previous ruler, Queen Zawditu. The reasons for this are described by His Majesty in His autobiography: On the 17th Maskaram 1909 (27th September 1916) I was chosen heir to throne and regent, with Queen Zawditu occupying the throne; and when I had patiently carried out the work of government, for fourteen years, in my office of regent plenipotentiary, Queen Zawditu died on 24th Magabit 1922 ( 2nd April 1930) and, consequently, on the morrow I was proclaimed Emperor and assumed the throne. As regards the succession to throne and crown, we have read in history that, at a time when Ethiopia lived in isolation and before she had established relations with foreign countries, the prevailing custom had been, at the demise of the Emperor, for his death often to remain carefully unannounced. They would then place his son and heir on the throne and crown him immediately that very day. Only after the sons reign and coronation had been announced by proclamation, would they give a ceremonial burial to the dead King. At other times, at the demise of the Emperor, the officers of the royal household would take him clandestinely and bury him, before anyone could hear about it, and on the morrow they would place his son and heir on the throne; after they had conducted the royal installation service and crowned him, the death of the father

and the new reign of the son would be announced by proclamation at the same time. But now that Ithiopia had concluded treaties of commerce and friendship with twelve foreign governments, had entered the League of Nations, and had established firm friendly relations, We were convinced that it was proper - in accordance with the practice of the most civilized governments in the case of their coronations - to invite to Our coronation the countries which had set up legations and consulates in Ithiopia. But as it would require a long time to dispatch the letters of invitation and to await the arrival of the delegates, as well as to make all the necessary preparations for the coronation, We arranged for the ceremony to be postponed for seven months.

by Ras Flako on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 8:50pm Greetings Royal Rastafari family We have been inexpressibly saddened and shocked by the transition of our beloved eight one year old Patriarch, Nyah Binghi Priest, States man, Ambassador Pioneer and Councilor, Ancient Bongo Rocky, at the Shashamanie Tabernacle in Ethiopia on Wednesday 15TH Sept 2010 .Once again, death has stretched out its hand to snatched from our midst a corner stone of the Nyah Binghi Order. To his family Mama Baby I, Bongo Rupert (Rupie) and those of his friends, we extend our deepest condolences. As we mourn his passing we hope that his transition will inspire us all to redouble our efforts to ensure the continued effectiveness of the Nyah Binghi Order, Rastafari Sustainable Development, Collective Security and the fulfillment of the Nyah Binghi Creed. Incient Bongo Rocky had repatriated to Ethiopia a decade ago with his Iloved Queen Baby I, since then he has served with distinction as Elder Statesman and Ambassador of the Rastafari Nation. He has headed delegations and meetings with Heads of State, politicians, AU representatives, as well as local and regional dignitaries on behalf of the Shashamanie community and the Nation of Rastafari. Bongo Rock, as he was fondly called was an inspiration to all those came before his presence , many were blessed by his word sound in cyberspace, he set the example for Reparation with strong determination and was the focal point for to visitors to the Shashamanie Tabernacle The wonderful works of the Ancient was manifested on the Shashamanie Nyah Binghi grounds whereby he used his small funds to decorate the place making it show piece to behold, Incient Congo Rock

Congo Rocky had multiple ailments and had been suffering for some time and had lost considerable amount of weight. It is hardly necessary to say more of his suffering however we express ourselves profoundly about the greatness of his character, and about his dedication to a purposeful life, his selfless devotion to help those in trouble, his respect for truth and justice and his burning patriotic zeal for Ethiopia all of which touch our heart deeply at this hour So when the flesh is down InI will keep his memory high, knowing that Qadamawi Haile Selassie is forIver. Even though the storm of aggression that upset the tranquility of the world was a severe test of ancient Congo Rocky moral endurance, it did not overwhelm him, it was to him a test of faith to obey the great and merciful Qadamawi Haile Selassie. Now is the Iwah of transition, as life journey closes Ancient Congo Rocky, you have slept but although you depart from us physically, your works and your name will always remain among us. Dry up your tears and chant Rastafari, dry up your tears and chant fair well to Incient Priest, Patriarch and Iloved Ancestor Congo Rocky. It has been eighty years since the coronation of His and Her Imperial Majesties, Emperor Haile Selassie I and Empress Menan to the pinacle of the Ethiopian governance, the succession to the Solomonic legacy and the divine mystical revelation of Jah in Man on earth. Ras Tafari! These eighty years have seen the rise, growth and evolution of the Ras Tafari Movement as a Black liberation reality, an empowerment of African/Ethiopian identity, and the embracing of the possibilities of becoming, members of a new Race as described by Qadamawi Haile Selassie I. Although today the tenets of Black liberation philosophy and the empowerment of African/Ethiopian identity remain a focal point in the teachings and aspirations of many followers of Ras Tafari, it is the task and challenges of becoming members of a new race, and the acceptance of, and collaboration with our many sistrens and brethrens from all nations, colors, and creeds that informs our present and perhaps future existence as a righteous Movement. In this regard, I MAN applaud the work of the Word Sound Power Collective for its consistent and continued efforts to support the care and perservation of dignity for Ras Tafari Elders in America, Jamaica and Ethiopia, and to foster bridges of collective security, tolerance and unity across the divide of ethnic and social boundaries. It is also a tremendous joy to have ones who hail His and Her Imperial Majesties through deeds, ises, and irits.

On behalf of the Iniversal Development of Ras Tafari Inc. InI take this opportunity to encourage and remind each of us to continue the task of fulfilling the mandates of personal responsibilty and collective security to our families, communities and nation states.
