Design & implementation of Digital frequency analyzer with Low power consumption module using FPGA

Abstract The design mainly focused on low power consumption concept in every digital systems .In this project we are designing digital cymometers circuit implementation plan. It is based on the most practical digital system simulation VHDL language. Compare to the other Cymometer ,it have a lot of advantages: It can measure the frequency of square wave signal, and show the frequency control with a digital display tube; By changing the program to reach the purpose of expanding measuring range; It also set up a range status display signal, when it excess the maximum range, it will alarm. Due to the power consumption or controlling module the system is capable of monitoring and detecting the required signal and make the entire device to sleep mode in case of any un desired signal or if there is no availability of signal. Designing the circuit with FPGA make the system more accuracy and reliable. The project is designed using VHDL language and the simulation is through Modelsim simulator.

Existing System In the existing system the paper is implemented by detecting the input signal and making the comparison for the required range.if the input exceeds the range the system will alarm

Proposed System In the proposed scheme, the low power consumption system not only detects the input signal and measure the range of the input but also do the nessesary clock parameter analysis and display the error signal.Compare and the detect the clock jitter, glitches ,over range and under range signals and make the circuit to sleep mode automatically with a error message

Introduction Frequency is the eternal topic of electronic technology. Electronic technology can not without frequency, once leaving the frequency, the electronic technologys development is unthinkable, it just as people can not without electricity in today. As a measuring frequencys instrument, the cymometer often refer to as electronic counter in modern

electronic technology. Its basic function is the signal frequency of measurement and cycle frequency counter have a wide applications. It is not only used the general simple instruments measurement, but also widely used in teaching, research, high-precision instruments measuring, industrial control and other areas. Currently, the highperformance and simple-structure electronics products have become the mainstay of market. As a widely used measurement instruments, improving the digital cymometers performance contributed to the aerospace, electronics, measurement areas

development. The new type of programmable logic device-FPGA technology can integrate a large number of logic functions in a single device. On the one hand, integration is greater far than the previous digital cymometer; On the other hand, In the reference frequency and the external conditions permitted, according to the accuracy requirements for different occasions, changing the hardware description languages to improve the accuracy of the system. Therefore, in achieve system functions, it notonly is a small device, but is allow power consumption also. System Chip (SOC)s development can not be separated frequency measurement. Therefore, the digital cymometer is also a prerequisite for realization of system chip. The digital cymometer was designed greatly reduce the power consumption in the whole system
