The map below shows the developmentof the village. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the development of the village. I hope you will help me correct my essay! I appreciate all your feedback! The map provides information about the growth of Chorleywood, a village located near London, from the late 1860s to the mid 1990s. Overall, there was a close connection between the rise in the population of the village and the traffic networks, both of which underwent noticeable enhancements throughout the period. From 1868 to 1883, Chorleywood originally consisted of a small community to the west of the Chorleywood Park and Golf Course. Besides, it was sited next to a North - South routeway, which was one of the two main roads available at that time. Over the next four decades, the village commenced its expansion to the south, which nearly tripled its initial size. In 1909, the infrastructure was strengthened by the new additional railway that was built across the small town as well as the establishment of Chorleywood Station. Furthermore, the third period, from 1922 to 170, saw a continuos enlargement both eastwards and southwards of the village along the rail road. Following that, there was a marked improvement of the transportation networks when a motorway was built in 1970. By 1994, the villagers had extended their area around the junctions between the newly completed motorway and the two East - West traffic lines.

The map shows the growth of a village called Chorleywood between 1868 and 1994. It is clear that the village grew as the transport infrastructure was improved. Four periods of development are shown on the map, and each of the populated areas is near to the main roads, the railway or the motorway. From 1868 to 1883, Chorleywood covered a small area next to one of the main roads. Chorleywood Park and Golf Course is now located next to this original village area. The village grew along the main road to the south between 1883 and 1922, and in 1909 a railway line was built crossing this area from west to east. Chorleywood station is in this part of the village. The expansion of Chorleywood continued to the east and west alongside the railway line until 1970. At that time, a motorway was built to the east of the village, and from 1970 to 1994, further development of the village took place around motorway intersections with the railway and one of the main roads

The figure shows how the village Chorleywood was developed between 1868 and 1994. As illustrated, there are four main periods. The first period lasted for 15 years and began in 1868. During that time, there was just a very small group of people living along the main road near Chorleywood Park. In the second period starting from 1883 to 1922, more people started spreading around Chorleywood station with twice the size of the population in the first period. The population was even bigger in the third period which happened after that and continued until 1970. Instead of living around the station, they went to live along the railway opposite to the side of Chorleywood Park. Finally, between 1970 and 1994, the population had reached 10 times larger than it was in the first period. During this 24-year period, there were a huge number of buildings located along the two sides of motorway.

The birth rate in most developed countries is predicted to begin to fall over the next 50 years. By 2030 it is estimated that over one third of the population in most developed countries will be aged 65 and over. What effects will these predictions have on developed countries if they prove true? What can be done now to deal with this situation? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. You should write at least 250 words. Answers: Nowadays, most people worry about over-population and living in crowded cities. However, it is predicted that we will have the opposite problem by the year 2030 when one third of the population will be aged 65 or over and birth rates are predicted to decline. What effect will this have on our society?

By 2030 the percentage of the population aged 65 or older will have risen significantly, to more than 30%. This means that fewer people will be working, and therefore fewer people will be paying income tax. In the future it may be necessary for governments to increase the official retirement age to 70 or even older. When today's 30-year-olds are in their sixties it is unlikely that they will enjoy the relaxed lifestyle that today's older generation can expect when they give up work. Governments will therefore need to make sure that this older generation is healthy and fit enough to continue working. However, I believe the biggest impact will be on the younger generation. In 2030 the younger generation will need to work much harder to support the large number of older people. If this trend continues then it is possible that our entire culture will change. For example, most marketing companies today try to target the younger generation with their products and advertisements. If the majority of the population is older then this will change and companies will begin to target the older generation instead. So, what can be done now to prevent these problems? Firstly, I believe that governments of developed countries should find ways to encourage people to have larger families and increase the birth rate. Secondly, I believe that they should encourage migration from developing countries 50 that the problems of over-crowding can be solved.

There has long been a debate over if is better that the people have a university career or have a any job. To have a good society is necessary than do not every people have a university career, but people with university career have most opportunities for their life. Nowadays, technology has developed enormously and people should learn lots of skills during their lives. Changing technology affects every thing like industry, economy even life style and people's attitudes. All different difficulties or problems will grew quickly with changing technology, so they have to keep pace with lots of changes. As far as I'm concerned, in the past people used to live together simply, they used to work in farms and have their own businesses. They used to make money easily and it was sufficient to know about their single profession not multi-skill like today. In contrast with living in the past, these days many companies and manufacturers attract multi-talented people for their jobs, so people with lower education and skills may lose their jobs. Hence it's quite impossible to get a good job without higher education and multiple skills, so people will have to have several careers and work for long hours to gain money for providing their families' desires. I personally think jobs and careers are more technical and difficult than the past and so are earning money. It makes each person to learn lots of skills and knowledge for his/her own profession. Taking into account of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that education plays a crucial role in human's life. Many technical institutes are running for teaching and training. It's an opportunity to learn computer skills or other knowledge for people who want a better job and make good money. Therefore, in my point of view along with education, technical skills can improve and people with higher qualification and extensive technical skills have a better chance to get good jobs and make good money and reach their goals.

Nowadays , the ideas of having a single career is becoming an old fashioned one . There has been a great change . The new fashion will be have several careers or ways of earning money , in addition further education will be something that continues throughout life. A few decade ago , each one hd only a single career . They know everything in their profession and know little or know about other careers . In fact , with developing world's economy , people should have several careers or ways of earning money and especialy education will be something that continues throughout life .When we have knowledge about many careers , we will hve many chances to develope and our income will be stable . MY essay: The technology's development brings about many changes in our society, today. One of these changes is the way people think about careers. Having a singlecareer, having further education or having several careers, what is the best way? In this essay, I'm going to make it clear.

In the first place, to my parents' generation, having a single career tended to be popular. As technology's underdevelopment, each person could not get morecareer than one. They worked for eight hours each day, and then spent other time for their families, etc. However, today, to the new generation, the idea ofhaving a single career is being old fashioned. The developmental economics makes young people become more and more active, their desire to affirm themselves is stronger. As being educated many subjects in schools, their knowledge is available to them in working in many fields such as Art, Biology or Physical education, etc. Having several careers means they can earn more money and spend more money for their own lives To someone who likes the idea of having further education which seems to be the most safety way, they can extend their school- time, improve their knowledge. However, it isn't a best way through our lives. Education is limited. Different from studying which only gives us theory; working gives us reality knowledge which ismore attractive to everyone. In conclusion, to compare these three ideas together, it's easy to see that having several careers is the most popular society's tendency. It's suitable for thesocioeconomic's development and the change in young people's psychology today
