We currently seek a proactive Editorial Intern to support our various editorial processes in our
publishing brand. The ideal person has great potential to grow with us and join us in making a
meaningful impact in pursuit of our vision.

Job Description
Primary Responsibility
The intern will join the team at Gemspread Publishing, our publishing brand, to offer
supportive editorial work; conduct research on literary trends, genres, and publishing industry
updates; and contribute to editorial decision-making and brainstorming sessions. The role will
help in implementing the brand’s strategy toward achieving the Company’s broader publishing
goals.
Workflow
This role will be directly supervised by the Director of Publishing. The person may be required to
collaborate with other teams within the publishing team as necessary in pursuit of the brand’s goals.
This role entails working for 20 hours a week.
Scope of Role
The Editorial Intern will perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities:
i. Thoroughly read and assess assigned manuscripts, books, and publications.
ii. Write concise, engaging, and insightful book reviews for use in newsletters, blogs, and
promotional materials.
iii. Edit (developmental), copyedit, and proofread assigned manuscripts, articles, or other
internal materials to attain high publication standards.
iv. Suggest innovative ideas for book review formats or editorial improvements.

Remuneration
This is an unpaid internship, but a monthly stipend will be provided.
