Celebrate National Womens History Month

Friday, March 9, 4:45-6:30 p.m. Library Main Floor, refreshments will be provided Travel writer Jennifer Wilson has written for Esquire, National Geographic Traveler, Better Homes & Gardens, Traditional Home, Midwest Living, Iowa Outdoors, the Chicago Tribune, and many other publications. Come and hear her share her experiences and selections from her publication Running Away to Home: Our Family's Journey to Croatia in Search of Who We Are, Where We Came From, and What Really Matters. Publishers Weekly says: "In her funny and heartfelt memoir, she packs up her husband and two young children from Des Moines, Iowa, with the plan to live a simpler, more connected life in the ancestral home in Croatia and to learn about her immigrant story."

The library is helping sponsor the E & E Movie, The Kings Speech, to be shown on Thursday, March 29 at 7 p.m. in Bud's Place (in the lower level of Nielsen Hall). The E & E movies emphasize themes of diversity, service, & leadership.

You can access BSP through the librarys homepage; select Journals, then Business Journals, then Business Source Premier.

Student Worker Spotlight


Kelli Jo McIlheran Hometown: Des Moines, IA Major: Graphic Design, Photography Activities: Viking Volunteers Kelli not only works at the Library, she also works in the Grand View Bookstore. Kelli enjoys being creative and taking photos in her free time.

Julie Ann Ganoe, Senior Hometown: Redfield, IA Major: Nursing Julie keeps very busy with the nursing program and working at the library, and when shes not on campus she works as a nanny for a family in Ankeny and at Chips in Ankeny on the weekends. In the summer Julie enjoys playing softball.
