March 2, 2012 Dear CBAD Board, Players and Coaches: For over a decade I have had a passion in serving our basketball community through CAAD, CBAD and USADB. I believed that my experience with coordinating local and national tournaments, my ability to work with different people, and my different skills would be used as assets for our basketball community in all levels. To preserve our strong support for the traditional Central Region that continues to serve USADB, we formed CBAD four years ago when CAAD struggled with conflicting and illegal ideas that took CAAD away from its true legacy for over 50 years. However, as these four years passed, unfortunately we all saw difficult times with having two separate organizations serving the Central Region. We saw Central players and coaches unhappy about the ongoing sad affairs and some of us became very angry with other fellows. As our CBAD officers, players and coaches already know, CBAD has diligently made many efforts to work with CAAD (via VP, personal visits, emails, etc.) toward central region unification, without any success. CAAD has not made nor shown any efforts with that. However, with the current movement among our Central players and coaches, they believe that the CAAD President Bonnie Schwebke, CAAD Sports Director Neal McKenzie, and I, your CBAD President, are viewed as barriers toward the Central Region unification. They are calling for our impeachment or for us to resign to clear the way. After some thoughts, and discussions with my colleagues, I decided to consider my resignation may be in the best interest of the Central Region. However, in order to protect CBAD, my resignation is effective ONLY when BOTH CAAD PRESIDENT Bonnie Schwebke and CAAD Sports Director Neal Mckenzie resigned or are impeached concurrently. Otherwise I believe CBAD (and USADB) will be harmed if I resigned, and these other two individuals are allowed to remain in their positions. Sincerely, Doug Mader CBAD President
