Coach Kyle Smith

Head Coach, Washington State Men’s Basketball
124 Smith Gymnasium

Dear Coach Smith,

I am proposing that Washington State men’s basketball brings me on as an operations assistant for the summer
of 2020, prior to becoming a graduate assistant in the fall.

Over my time at Washington State University I have managed to get a 3.62 cumulative GPA, while working
closely with assistant coaches, directors of basketball operations, and other departments within WSU athletics
as a head student manager. I pride myself in creating positive relationships within the department. From my
previous experiences as a manager, I have learned to use SportsCode, Synergy, and FastModel Software
programs in fluent capacity. With the trust that you as a staff have shown me thus far, I have gained practical
experience in running recruit visits. I have also worked as a coach for NBC Camps for three summers as a master
teacher. NBC Camps is the worlds largest residential basketball camp that holds values derived from their
Christian faith. Those values are similar to that of this program.

I believe in the core values of this program (faith, family, team, and academics), and I hold Washington State
University and the City of Pullman very highly in my heart. Continuing to learn about the game of basketball is
my forefront goal with this summer job proposal. Specifically, I want to develop my knowledge in the areas of
player evaluation, analytics, in-game strategy, and recruiting strategy.

Given the position our team is in with so many spots to fill in recruiting, I realize that you have a lot on your
mind and agenda. I want to thank you for taking time to consider my proposal. I also want to thank you again
for the trust you as a staff have given me thus far. It is a blessing for me as someone who wants to break into
this field. I am willing to adjust anything within the proposal. I figured this could serve as a starting point. Go
Cougs!

Sincerely,

Jet Younker
