I am looking forward to obtaining a position as an athletic director and/or
administrator at the middle or high school level. I have been involved in numerous
leadership positions within my school district in a variety of roles, where I have worked
closely with our athletic department and administration and believe my qualifications and
experience make me an excellent candidate for an open position in your district. I hope you
can give me consideration towards any openings in your district, and would welcome the

My professional experience has provided me many opportunities to develop my

leadership skills in preparation for this opportunity. In my time at Saugatuck, I have served
as a district steering team member, vice-president of our teachers union, head of the
elementary math committee, program coordinator for Destination Imagination, and as our
varsity boys and girls soccer coach. I am deeply invested in the school and community I
work in, and am committed to developing well-rounded students that I serve. Through
these experiences I have shown an ability to communicate a consistent message and
coordinate initiatives that have focused on the vision and goals of our district.

Through my coaching experience, I have learned a lot about the inner-workings and

values that it takes to run a successful interscholastic team and program. I was heavily
involved in beginning the soccer program at our school and helped with its development at
the youth level. Alongside my athletic director, I have been involved in event management,
scheduling, athlete mentoring, and in managing budgetary needs. I have encouraged
professional development within our athletic department and worked with a team to
fundraise and redo our athletic training facility. My experiences have deepened my passion
and belief in the value that sport has in developing students who are prepared for life. I am
fully prepared to handle the rigors that the athletic director position brings, and am looking
forward to the challenges that may face me. I would appreciate the opportunity to visit
